![]()
CT FPA Trails Day 2026: Tour Fort Griswold Battlefield State Park offers visitors a chance to explore one of Connecticut’s most important Revolutionary War sites on Saturday, June 6. Led by knowledgeable guides and hosted in partnership with the Friends of Fort Griswold Battlefield State Park, the tour includes both the Monument House Museum and the historic battlefield grounds overlooking the Thames River.
Participants will begin at the Monument House Museum before continuing across the street to the Memorial Gates and the battlefield itself. The route includes a mix of flat and hilly terrain with some rocky sections, so sturdy footwear is recommended. Leashed dogs are welcome to join the outdoor portion of the tour.
History enthusiasts, families, and anyone interested in Connecticut’s colonial past will enjoy this guided experience. The park commemorates the Battle of Groton Heights, one of the most significant engagements fought in Connecticut during the American Revolution, making it a fascinating destination for both residents and visitors alike.
