Comedian Harris Stanton Brings Stand-Up and Craft Beer to New London’s Garde Arts Center on Friday, October 16, as the Comedy Craft Beer Tour continues its series of intimate performances in the theater’s Oasis Room.
The 8 p.m. show features Stanton, a Brooklyn-based comedian whose career has taken him to clubs and theaters across the United States and overseas. Known for his experience on the national stand-up circuit, Stanton brings nearly two decades of comedy experience to a setting where audiences can enjoy a performance without the distance of a large auditorium.

From Baseball to the Comedy Stage
Stanton’s path to stand-up was an unusual one. After attending Spartanburg Methodist College in South Carolina, he was selected by the Chicago Cubs in the 52nd round of the 1996 Major League Baseball amateur draft.
He ultimately pursued comedy instead, developing a career that included appearances on BET’s Comic View, Comedy Central’s Premium Blend and Comics Unleashed. He has also appeared in a sketch on Saturday Night Live.
His work has brought him into the orbit of several prominent comedians. Stanton appeared in the opening lineup for Tracy Morgan’s Turn It Funny tour and recorded a comedy DVD with Patrice O’Neal.
Those credits reflect a performer who has spent years working before different audiences, developing material through live performances rather than relying on a single television appearance.
Comedy and Craft Beer in the Oasis Room
The Garde’s Oasis Room is a 100-seat performance space on the mezzanine level of the historic New London theater. Designed for smaller gatherings, it offers a more personal experience than the Garde’s main auditorium.
That atmosphere is central to the Comedy Craft Beer Tour, which has been pairing professional comedians with breweries, wineries and other venues throughout the Northeast since 2016.
