Live music from Red Lion, Flowers & Kain, and Suave-Ski drifts across the water from a floating stage, creating an atmosphere that’s equal parts concert, community celebration, and afternoon adventure.
Even if you don’t own a kayak or paddleboard, FloatSwella is worth experiencing. Riverfront parks, bridges, restaurants, and walkways offer excellent views of the colorful procession as paddlers fill the river throughout the afternoon. Whether you’re watching from shore or joining the flotilla yourself, it’s a reminder of how closely Mystic’s identity is tied to its river—and why this has become one of the shoreline’s most distinctive summer traditions.
