Friday nights means live music, lawn chairs and relaxing summer evenings by the waterway, and this week’s City of Groton Concerts in the Park features one of CT Beacon’s Spotlight Artists Wicked Peach.
Spread out your blanket and get ready to sing along to your favorite rock tunes from the ’90s and beyond when Wicked Peach takes the stage at Washington Park. Known for high-energy performances and a catalog full of rock hits, Wicked Peach will keep dancers on their feet and invested in their music from start to finish.
Fronted by vocalist/guitarist Ernie Lewis, with Stan Smith on bass and Jonathan Souza on drums, Wicked Peach features rotating lead guitarists Dan Watson and Corey Carter. The band has made appearances at festivals, breweries and other events all over southeastern Connecticut and Rhode Island.
Though 90’s alternative rock is the band’s specialty, their playlist includes artists like Foo Fighters, Third Eye Blind, Blink-182, Green Day, Weezer, Sublime, The Killers, Goo Goo Dolls, Linkin Park, and Jimmy Eat World. Listeners will also hear crowd favorites by Tom Petty, Cheap Trick, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Neil Diamond and KISS.
Wicked Peach will play Friday, July 24 as part of the City of Groton’s Concerts in the Park series. Concerts in the Park is a free summer concert series that has quickly become a Groton tradition. Each Friday night local and regional musicians perform at Washington Park for evenings full of live music, dancing, food trucks and family-friendly activities.
Grab a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the show. Food trucks and concessions will be available for purchase, and there’s plenty of space to bring your own dance moves to the park.
