Sunflowers for Wishes at Buttonwood Farm returns July 18 through July 26 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for one of Connecticut’s most beloved summer traditions. Held at the family-owned farm in Griswold, the annual fundraiser invites visitors to stroll through more than 300,000 blooming sunflowers spread across 14 acres while supporting Make-A-Wish Connecticut. Named by Better Homes & Gardens as one of the 11 most beautiful sunflower fields in the country, the event has become a must-visit destination for photographers, families, and flower lovers each summer.
What began in 2003 as a one-acre sunflower field has grown into one of Connecticut’s largest charitable events. Visitors can cut their own bouquets for $3 per flower, with a $3 admission to the cutting field, and 100% of sunflower proceeds benefiting Make-A-Wish Connecticut. Over the past 24 seasons, the Buttonwood Farm family and its visitors have donated more than $1.9 million to help grant wishes for children with critical illnesses. Along with the sunflower fields, guests can enjoy the farm’s famous homemade ice cream, handcrafted waffle cones, and more than 50 flavors, including the seasonal Sunflower flavor, available only during the event while supplies last.
