Nick Bosse at Rivermill Tavern
Nick Bosse at Rivermill Tavern brings one of southeastern Connecticut’s established country performers to Jewett City on Friday, August 14, for an early-evening show from 6 to 8 p.m. The North Stonington singer-songwriter has built a strong regional following with a sound rooted in traditional country, outlaw country, Southern rock and bluegrass.
The performance lands at the relatively new Rivermill Tavern, a neighborhood restaurant and bar at 47 Main Street in Jewett City. The tavern combines pizza and pub food with a full bar, pool table, karaoke and a growing schedule of weekend live music.
For Bosse, it’s one stop in a particularly busy August. His current schedule has him playing vineyards, festivals, community concerts, Mohegan Sun and other venues across Connecticut and Rhode Island, both on his own and with his full band, The Northern Roots. About Nick Bosse
Bosse is a North Stonington native whose music leans toward the grittier side of country rather than polished country-pop.
His influences stretch through classic country, bluegrass, Southern rock and contemporary Americana. The song most closely associated with Bosse is “What Happened to Country,” released in 2021.
The track helped expand his audience well beyond the local club circuit. Earlier reports had the single passing 800,000 streams, while Connecticut’s tourism office reported in August 2026 that it has now surpassed 2 million streams.
Bosse has since continued recording and performing while becoming a familiar name on southeastern Connecticut stages. His schedule has included appearances at Mohegan Sun and other regional venues, and in 2025 he opened for country singer Randy Houser in Connecticut.
For the Rivermill show, the billing is simply Nick Bosse, rather than Nick Bosse & The Northern Roots, indicating this is one of his smaller-format performances rather than a full-band concert. An Early Friday Night at Rivermill Tavern
Rivermill Tavern opened in Jewett City in late 2025 and has quickly established itself as a casual neighborhood restaurant and bar.
The menu is built largely around pizza and familiar pub food, including wings, burgers, grinders and appetizers, alongside a full bar. Pizza is particularly prominent, with specialty pies including chicken bacon ranch, Buffalo chicken, meat lovers and BBQ chicken.
The atmosphere is closer to a neighborhood tavern than a formal concert venue. There are TVs, a jukebox and pool table, and entertainment has become part of the weekly schedule with karaoke and live music.

A Busy Weekend for Nick Bosse

The following evening, August 15, Nick Bosse & The Northern Roots perform at Preston Ridge Vineyard. On Sunday, Bosse heads to Westerly for a 1 p.m. appearance at the Windjammer Surf Bar.
