Melaena Band at Tuskers brings more than four decades of dance-worthy favorites to downtown New London on Friday, July 31, from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Known throughout southeastern Connecticut for its polished musicianship and crowd-pleasing performances, Melaena fills every show with classic hits spanning Motown, rock, soul, pop, funk, and country, creating a soundtrack that keeps audiences on the dance floor all night.
For more than 40 years, Melaena has remained one of Connecticut’s premier cover bands, performing at weddings, festivals, clubs, and private events across the region. The six-piece group features founding member Bob Straub on vocals, saxophone, flute, and percussion, alongside Rich Kornacki on drums, Charlie Hedding on bass and vocals, Hilary Carboni on keyboards and vocals, Steve Belgrade on lead guitar and vocals, and Bernie Santore on vocals and guitar. Collectively, the musicians have shared stages with artists including The Temptations, The Four Tops, Eddie Money, The Guess Who, and NRBQ while building careers with many of southeastern Connecticut’s best-known local bands.
Their expansive song list spans generations, featuring favorites from Earth, Wind & Fire, Journey, The Temptations, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Bruno Mars, Chris Stapleton, Billy Joel, Elton John, Tom Petty, Stevie Wonder, and dozens more. Whether you’re a fan of Motown classics, classic rock anthems, modern pop, or country hits, Melaena delivers a setlist designed to get everyone dancing.
Tuskers has quickly established itself as one of New London’s most exciting nightlife destinations.
