La Casa de la Bachata Bachata Night at The Blue Duck Bar & Kitchen returns to downtown New London on Friday, July 31, from 9:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m., bringing an evening of authentic Dominican music, social dancing, and waterfront nightlife to Bank Street. Featuring music by DJ Bently LMP, the 21+ event invites dancers of all experience levels to enjoy bachata, salsa, dembow, and more in an energetic atmosphere overlooking the Thames River.
A bachata party is a social dance event centered around bachata, a music and dance style that originated in the Dominican Republic. Throughout the evening, partners dance to romantic and upbeat bachata songs while DJs also mix in related Latin genres such as salsa, merengue típico, reggaeton, and dembow to keep the dance floor moving. Whether you’re an experienced dancer or simply want to enjoy the music and lively atmosphere, bachata nights are known for being welcoming, social, and full of energy.
Guests can dance indoors or outside on the Blue Duck’s open-air deck while taking in river views throughout the night. The full bar will be open, and the kitchen will serve food until midnight. VIP tables are available for groups looking for reserved seating, while advance ticket purchases are recommended as attendance is limited.
