Mystic Noank Library Annual Spring Fair
Mystic Noank Library Annual Spring Fair returns to the lawn of the Mystic & Noank Library on Saturday, June 6, bringing one of the shoreline’s classic small-town community traditions back to downtown Mystic for a full day of books, plants, food, music, bargain hunting, and local gathering. Held rain or shine, the annual fair transforms the library grounds into a busy mix of book lovers, families, longtime locals, and visitors browsing everything from White Elephant finds to garden plants and baked goods while live music and food vendors help keep the atmosphere lively throughout the day.
The fair has become one of those early summer events that feels distinctly New England in the best possible way. People wander between tables carrying stacks of used books, neighbors catch up on the lawn, and the whole thing has the kind of relaxed community energy that’s getting harder to find in a world filled with giant festivals and overpriced events. The Silent Auction adds another layer to the day, with bidding continuing until 2 p.m., while the library’s famous book sale remains one of the biggest draws for regular attendees each year.
The celebration actually begins a few days earlier with the Book Sale Preview Party on Thursday evening, where attendees can get early access to books and other sale items at half off marked prices with a small admission fee. Organizers are also currently seeking volunteers for both the Spring Fair and the library’s upcoming Week Long Book Sale, continuing a longtime tradition of community support around one of Mystic’s most recognizable local institutions.
