Did you know June 1 marked the beginning of meteorological summer? Astronomical summer won’t arrive until June 21. Calendars differ. Definitions vary. One thing remains constant: summer weekends are in full swing here.

Foraging for fresh strawberries at the Olde Mistick Village Strawberry Festival returns this week. Learn local history at seven unique sites open during Connecticut Open House Day. We’ll take you to gardens and flowers from Stonington to Westerly, plus summer eats from farmers markets to the Connecticut Bacon Festival. Got strawberries? Got secrets? Got petals? Got munchies? We’ve got summer.

Our music guide has grown to 14 bands, artists, festivals, and spin doctors, offering everything from indie rock and classic tunes to concert cruises and dance clubs. You’ll have no problem finding something to keep your feet tapping.

Feeling indecisive about your movie choice? Don’t sweat it. We’ll sort you out based on your mood. Whether you’re in the mood for Spielberg’s sci-fi saga, an outrageously cheesy comedy, or, allegedly, the best action film of the year, we’ve got you covered.

We’ll also point you toward highlights from the L+M Summer Stride 5K & 10K, a family-friendly Horseshoe Crab WalkTeddy Bear Concert and more happening this weekend in SE Connecticut and SW Rhode Island.

Summer.
Define it however you’d like. It’s a great weekend for enjoying it. Time to break out the sunscreen. You’ve got plans to make. ☀️
