Thursdays Aboard ARGIA: Seaside Shadows Haunted Seafarers
Thursdays aboard ARGIA: Seaside Shadows Haunted Seafarers blends ghost stories, maritime history, and sunset sailing into one eerie shoreline experience aboard ARGIA. Hosted in partnership with Seaside Shadows Haunted History Tours, the event explores centuries of supernatural legends tied to Mystic and the surrounding coastal waters while guests sail through the same harbors and waterways where many of the stories originated.
During the two-hour sail, storytellers from Seaside Shadows guide passengers through chilling tales connected to colonial conflicts, shipwrecks, vanished sailors, wartime encounters, and unexplained happenings stretching back to the Pequot Wars, King Philip’s War, the Revolutionary War, and the War of 1812. The stories lean heavily into the darker side of New England maritime history, using the setting of the water itself to heighten the atmosphere as daylight fades along the shoreline.
The combination of live storytelling, ocean air, and the creaking wooden schooner creates an experience that feels part history lesson and part ghost story gathering at sea. Scheduled sailings include May 21 at 6:00 PM and October 8 at 5:00 PM, both lasting approximately two hours. Guests can reserve tickets through the ARGIA website by selecting the appropriate date and sailing time. For fans of haunted history, folklore, and atmospheric New England storytelling, this may be one of the most immersive ghost-themed events on the shoreline calendar.
