Strawberry Moon Living Exhibition
Strawberry Moon Living Exhibition celebrates the season of Wutahumun Keesoohs, or Strawberry Moon, with a day of Indigenous culture, food, music, storytelling, and family-friendly activities at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum on Saturday, June 27. Hosted on the Museum’s Farmstead, the event offers visitors an opportunity to explore the traditions, teachings, and community spirit surrounding the Strawberry Thanksgiving while enjoying hands-on experiences throughout the day.
Guests can browse a Native Artisans & Vendor Marketplace featuring handcrafted artwork, jewelry, cultural items, and contemporary creations by Indigenous makers. The event also includes a traditional clambake demonstration, seasonal tastings, live animals from Xen’s Critters, a turtle touch tank presented by Mystic Aquarium, storytelling, arts and crafts, and performances by Annawon Weeden and the Yootay Singers. Throughout the Farmstead, visitors will discover opportunities to learn about Indigenous foodways, agriculture, and cultural traditions that continue to thrive today.
Families can meet farm animals, create take-home crafts, shop Mashantucket-grown produce and products from Meechoook Farm, and even create a custom fragrance at Corleon Beauty’s interactive Perfume Oil Bar. Combining education, culture, entertainment, and hands-on experiences, the Strawberry Moon Living Exhibition offers one of the region’s most unique summer celebrations.
