Special Screening of Ken Burns’ The American Revolution

May 14 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Special Screening of Ken Burns The American Revolution

Special Screening of Ken Burns’ The American Revolution brings history, film, and Revolutionary War storytelling together for a special evening screening at Mystic Seaport. Hosted in partnership between Mystic Seaport Museum and Connecticut Public Television, the event features a military history-focused segment from Ken Burns’ upcoming documentary The American Revolution alongside additional historical interpretation connected to the museum’s collections.

The featured 50-minute screening examines the Revolutionary War through multiple perspectives while exploring battlefield strategy, conflict, and the broader realities of the era. Following the film segment, Mystic Seaport Museum Curator Krystal Rose will share stories and artifacts connected to the Revolution from the museum’s archives, helping connect the national story to maritime and regional history tied to Connecticut and New England.

Held inside the Garde’s Meeting House space with limited capacity, the evening is designed to feel more intimate than a traditional theater screening, allowing history enthusiasts to engage more directly with the material and discussion surrounding it. Registration is required, with a suggested $15 donation collected at the event. For viewers interested in American history, documentary filmmaking, or Revolutionary-era storytelling, the screening offers an early look at one of the most anticipated historical documentary projects in recent years.
