Run the Vineyards: Jonathan Edwards 5K
Run the Vineyards: Jonathan Edwards 5K returns to Jonathan Edwards Winery for its third annual race through one of the most picturesque winery settings in SE Connecticut. The chip-timed 5K begins at 9 a.m. and takes runners across a mostly paved course that winds through the vineyard itself before finishing back among the vines. Whether you are chasing a personal best or simply looking for a memorable morning outdoors, the event is designed for all ages and experience levels, including walkers and families.
The morning blends race-day energy with the relaxed atmosphere Jonathan Edwards Winery is known for. After crossing the finish line, participants can settle into a lively post-race gathering featuring live music from Bryan Titus, food from Munchies Food Truck, local beer available for purchase, and complimentary wine for participants 21 and older. Scenic vineyard views and a casual social atmosphere turn the event into more than just a race, creating the kind of late-spring outing that feels equally suited for running groups, friends, and weekend visitors exploring the region.
All finishers receive a Run the Vineyards stemless wine glass along with a custom tech shirt, with optional upgrades and commemorative medals available during registration. Awards will be presented to the top overall and age group finishers, and participants will also have access to free downloadable race photos after the event. Race-day packet pickup begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Good Day for a Run tent, with organizers encouraging all runners and walkers to arrive by 8:30 a.m. for check-in before the 9 a.m. start.
