Event Description
Paint a Pumpkin Night at Tapped Apple invites guests to trade traditional pumpkin carving for an evening of creativity, seasonal atmosphere, and locally crafted cider in downtown Westerly on Friday, October 23.
From 6 to 8 p.m., participants will decorate their own six-inch artificial pumpkins, creating personalized Halloween decorations that can be enjoyed year after year.
Hosted at Tapped Apple Cidery & Winery on High Street, the two-hour gathering combines a relaxed craft activity with an opportunity to enjoy one of Westerly’s local beverage destinations.
A Halloween Pumpkin That Lasts Beyond October
Most Halloween pumpkins eventually find their way to the compost pile. This one can return to the mantel, windowsill, or holiday centerpiece for years to come.
Instead of working with a traditional pumpkin, participants will paint a six-inch artificial pumpkin, transforming it into a reusable seasonal decoration.
The possibilities range from classic jack-o’-lantern faces and colorful Halloween patterns to elegant autumn designs, playful ghosts, and candy-corn-inspired creations.
Guests can follow their own creative instincts and make something that suits their personal decorating style.
Because the pumpkins are artificial, the finished pieces can also become keepsakes or handmade gifts.
No Painting Experience Required
You don’t need to be an experienced artist to enjoy the evening.
The event welcomes beginners and anyone who wants to spend a couple of hours trying something creative.
Whether you’re interested in painting a spooky face, experimenting with fall colors, or making a cheerful decoration for your home, the focus is on enjoying the process rather than producing a perfect work of art.
It’s an opportunity to put aside the usual Friday evening routine and create something with your own hands.
Sip and Create at Tapped Apple
The setting adds another element to the experience.
Tapped Apple Cidery & Winery is known for its locally crafted hard ciders and wines, making it a fitting destination for an autumn-themed evening.
Guests can enjoy a Tapped Apple beverage while working on their pumpkins, combining a seasonal craft with the atmosphere of a downtown cidery.
The event offers a different kind of Friday night outing, whether you’re planning an evening with friends, a date night, or simply looking for a creative way to welcome Halloween.
A Handmade Decoration to Take Home
At the end of the evening, participants leave with something more lasting than a photograph or a memory.
Their decorated pumpkins can become part of their Halloween displays for years to come.
They can also make thoughtful seasonal gifts, especially when personalized with favorite colors, patterns, or playful designs.
With Halloween approaching, the timing makes it easy to put the finished creation straight to work as part of the holiday decorations.
