Paddle for a Purpose Benefiting AFSP at Adventure Mystic

Paddle for a Purpose Benefiting AFSP at Adventure Mystic invites paddlers of every experience level to enjoy an evening on the Mystic River while supporting suicide prevention efforts across southeastern Connecticut. Held Thursday, August 6, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., the community fundraiser combines kayaking and paddleboarding with a meaningful cause, raising money for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Southeastern Connecticut Out of the Darkness Walk.

Hosted by Adventure Mystic, participants can choose between a paddleboard, single kayak, or double kayak before launching onto the scenic Mystic River. Along the way, guests will enjoy a relaxing summer paddle while helping fund suicide prevention research, education, advocacy, and community programs that provide hope and support to individuals and families affected by suicide. Raffle prizes will also be awarded throughout the evening, adding an extra layer of fun to the fundraiser.

Proceeds from the event support the Southeastern Connecticut Out of the Darkness Walk, scheduled for Saturday, September 12, at McCook Point Park in Niantic. Every registration helps advance the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s mission while encouraging open conversations about mental health and reminding participants that small acts of community support can have a lasting impact.
