Nature Journaling with Jonah at the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center
Nature Journaling with Jonah at the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center invites participants to slow down, observe, and deepen their connection with the natural world on Saturday, June 20. Led by Jonah Salsich, the workshop introduces the practice of nature journaling, a creative and accessible way to explore the outdoors through a combination of writing, sketching, observation, and curiosity.
Inspired by the work of naturalist John Muir Laws and the Wild Wonder Foundation, the program encourages participants to use words, pictures, and numbers to record what they notice in nature. The focus is not on artistic skill but on paying attention to the details of the world around us. Whether you’re an experienced artist, an avid naturalist, or someone who has never picked up a sketchbook before, the workshop welcomes all ages and experience levels.
Participants will spend time observing the landscape, plants, wildlife, and seasonal changes while learning techniques that can help cultivate mindfulness, curiosity, and a greater appreciation for the outdoors. The program offers a relaxed, supportive environment where everyone is encouraged to explore and learn at their own pace.
