Michael Cavanaugh Memorial Golf Tournament Tees Off for Cancer and ALS Charities in Stonington on Friday, October 16, bringing golfers together at Pequot Golf Club for an afternoon of competition, remembrance and charitable giving.
Presented in association with Sails Up 4 Cancer (SU4C), the tournament raises money for two organizations supporting people affected by serious illnesses: SU4C and ALS United Connecticut.
The event begins at 12:30 p.m., with registration priced at $120 per player. Participants will enjoy a round of golf while contributing to causes that provide assistance to patients and families facing cancer and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
Supporting Cancer Patients and Families
Sails Up 4 Cancer is a southeastern Connecticut nonprofit dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by cancer. The organization is known for its maritime-inspired fundraising efforts and community partnerships, which help provide assistance to people dealing with the financial and emotional challenges of a cancer diagnosis.
The tournament also benefits ALS United Connecticut, an organization supporting individuals living with ALS, a progressive neurological disease affecting the nerve cells responsible for voluntary muscle movement.
By directing proceeds to both organizations, the memorial tournament connects the local golfing community with two important charitable missions.
