Hoop Academy Summer Slam 2026

Hoop Academy Summer Slam 2026 returns to Westerly High School from Monday, August 3, through Friday, August 7, offering boys and girls entering grades 3 through 9 an exciting week of basketball instruction, skill development, and friendly competition. Hosted by the Westerly Recreation Department, the popular summer camp provides young athletes with an opportunity to improve their game while learning from experienced coaches in a fun, encouraging environment.

Designed for players of all skill levels, Hoop Academy focuses on the fundamentals that help young athletes succeed on the court. Campers work on shooting, ball handling, passing, footwork, defense, and teamwork through a combination of drills, games, and scrimmages. Along the way, coaches emphasize sportsmanship, confidence, and a love of the game while helping each player develop at their own pace.

Running daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Summer Slam gives participants a full week of basketball instruction alongside fellow players from across the region. Families may also qualify for reduced tuition through free or reduced lunch programs, and sibling discounts are available. Whether your child is picking up a basketball for the first time or preparing for the upcoming school season, Hoop Academy provides a supportive environment where players can learn, compete, and have fun.
