Join friends, family, and food enthusiasts from across SE Connecticut this Tuesday, June 9, as we celebrate three Connecticut locals nominated for this year’s James Beard Awards in Chicago.

The free public event honors local chefs and hospitality professionals nominated for national awards, recognizing their accomplishments as leaders in the industry. From exceptional dining to adventurous imbibing, the Connecticut shoreline has quickly become known for its culinary scene. Consider this your invitation to celebrate our hometown heroes before they head to Chicago next month!

Attendees at Mystic River Park will celebrate award finalists David Standridge of The Shipwright’s Daughter in Mystic, who has been nominated for Outstanding Chef, and David DiStasi of Materia Ristorante, who has been nominated for Best Chef: Northeast. We will also recognize The Port of Call in Mystic, which has been nominated for Outstanding Wine and Other Beverages Program. All three nominations are featured in highly competitive categories and are sure to bring regional bragging rights to our fellow Connecticut food and beverage enthusiasts.

This year’s James Beard Awards will be held Monday, June 15, and will shine a light on some of the nation’s best food, wine, and spirits. Join us ahead of the big night to support our hometown James Beard Award finalists and raise a glass to all of the talent, creativity and passion helping to elevate food and drink across our region.
