Celebrate America’s 250th Birthday at Mystic Seaport Museum continues with a full day of Independence Day festivities featuring one of New England’s most beloved holiday traditions, live sea shanties, historical talks, family activities, and immersive experiences celebrating America’s maritime heritage.

The highlight of the day is the whimsical Antiques and Horribles Parade, a quirky New England tradition dating back to America’s Centennial celebration in 1876. Visitors can also attend a fascinating presentation about legendary local mariners, enjoy sea shanties performed live, participate in family activities, and experience America 250 programming throughout the Museum’s historic village.
