Animation Nation at the Westerly Public Library
Animation Nation at the Westerly Public Library gives young filmmakers the chance to bring their imaginations to life with LEGO stop-motion animation every Wednesday throughout July and August. Designed for children ages 9 to 12, this free weekly program introduces participants to the creative process of making animated movies using LEGO bricks, characters, and simple stop-motion techniques.
Each session encourages tweens to create their own stories one frame at a time while learning the basics of animation, storytelling, and filmmaking. Whether participants are building exciting adventures, funny comedies, or imaginative fantasy worlds, they’ll gain hands-on experience with a filmmaking style used in everything from independent projects to major animated productions.
No registration is required, making it easy for young creators to drop in, explore their creativity, and collaborate with other aspiring animators throughout the summer.
