Be Kind & Rewind – 90s Tribute at Sun Patio turns back the clock at Mohegan Sun on Friday, August 14, with a free outdoor concert centered on 1990s music. Be Kind & Rewind bills its show as the “Ultimate 90s Experience,” taking a broad approach to the decade rather than concentrating on a single artist or style. That means a night capable of jumping from grunge and alternative rock to pop and hip-hop, with the familiar songs and rapid shifts in genre that made ’90s radio wonderfully unpredictable. The concert is part of Mohegan Sun’s Party on the Sun Patio, a 14-week summer series pairing free outdoor concerts with food trucks and drink specials. Guests can dance near the stage, bring their own chairs, rent one at the venue or reserve a fire pit for a more comfortable view of the show.
About Be Kind & Rewind
Be Kind & Rewind is a touring tribute act devoted to recreating the musical free-for-all of the 1990s. Instead of impersonating a single band, the group builds its performances around an entire decade, moving between rock, alternative, pop, and hip-hop sounds that competed for airplay on MTV and radio.
The band’s own description calls the show an “Ultimate 90s Experience,” with the emphasis on packing the decade’s hits into a single performance. The group is touring extensively during summer 2026, with the Mohegan Sun appearance falling between shows in New York and additional dates around the Northeast.
It’s essentially a live ’90s mixtape, designed less like a traditional tribute concert and more like a big nostalgia party.
Party on the Sun Patio
Mohegan Sun’s Sun Patio becomes an outdoor music venue every Friday during the summer, with bands performing beneath the night sky as part of the resort’s Hot Summer Fun programming.
The 2026 Party on the Sun Patio season runs for 14 weeks and focuses heavily on tribute acts. Admission to the concerts is free for guests 21 and older. (Mohegan Sun Newsroom)
Seating is first come, first served, but guests may bring their own chairs.
Food & Drinks
Three food trucks are scheduled for the August 14 concert:
- Jayy’s
- Fried Dough Nation
- Reel Catch
Reel Catch is Mohegan Sun’s own seafood food truck, serving seafood-focused dishes throughout the Sun Patio season. Drink specials are also available at the venue.
Outside food, beverages and coolers aren’t permitted.
Seating & Chair Rentals
Guests are welcome to bring their own chairs, or Adirondack-style chairs can be rented for $10 at the Tiki Hut. Rental chairs aren’t permitted at the fire pits or on the dance floor. Regular seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Fire Pit Reservations
Groups looking for reserved space can book one of the Sun Patio’s fire pits.
VIP Fire Pits: $45 per person and include one alcoholic beverage per guest, cocktail service and prime stage views. VIP pits accommodate six to eight people, with only 10 available.
General Fire Pits: $30 per person and include one alcoholic beverage per guest and cocktail service. These also accommodate groups of six to eight.
Fire pit reservations must be checked in by 8 p.m. to guarantee entry and seating.
What Happens if It Rains?
There are no rain dates or makeup dates.
If weather forces a change, cancellations will be announced by 2 p.m. on the day of the event, and the band will perform inside the Wolf Den.
