The Name Droppers at the Wolf Den bring their award-winning blend of blues, rock, and soul to Mohegan Sun on Saturday, August 1, at 8:00 p.m. Featuring a lineup of veteran musicians who have performed and recorded alongside some of rock and blues’ biggest names, the Connecticut-based band delivers an evening of exceptional musicianship, powerful vocals, and timeless American music.
The Name Droppers have earned national recognition for both their live performances and original recordings. Their 2025 album Cool Blue Shoes reached No. 1 on the national Blues Rock chart, continuing the band’s growing reputation on the blues scene. The group’s lineup includes drummer Bobby “T” Torello, best known for his years with blues legend Johnny Winter and tours with Michael Bolton, Grace Slick, and Black Oak Arkansas; bassist Scott Spray, Johnny Winter’s longtime bassist and a Grammy winner for his work on Step Back; songwriter and guitarist Rafe Klein, who collaborated extensively with Charlie Karp; keyboardist Ron Rifkin; and vocalist Simone Brown, whose gospel roots and soulful harmonies add depth to the band’s acclaimed recordings and live performances.
The Wolf Den has become one of southeastern Connecticut’s premier free live music venues, offering guests an intimate concert experience featuring nationally touring artists and standout regional performers. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, making early arrival the best way to secure a spot for this evening of outstanding blues and rock.
