Everclear at Jonathan Edwards Winery brings one of the defining alternative rock bands of the 1990s to North Stonington on Friday, July 24. Performing from 7 to 9 p.m., the multi-platinum band returns with a catalog of iconic hits that helped shape a generation of alternative rock, all set against the scenic backdrop of one of Connecticut’s premier wineries. This rain-or-shine, 21+ concert promises an unforgettable evening of live music, food, and wine.
Formed in 1992 by singer, songwriter, and guitarist Art Alexakis, Everclear has sold more than six million albums worldwide and released 11 studio albums, including four certified Gold or Platinum. The band’s unmistakable sound produced a string of radio hits including Santa Monica, Father of Mine, I Will Buy You a New Life, Wonderful, and Everything to Everyone. Their success earned a Grammy nomination in 1998 and established Everclear as one of the era’s most successful alternative rock bands.
More than three decades after their debut, Everclear continues to tour extensively. Alexakis also founded the popular Summerland Tour, celebrating ’90s alternative rock, and has continued performing following his 2019 diagnosis with multiple sclerosis, donating one dollar from every concert ticket sold to organizations including the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and Sweet Relief Musicians Fund.
