Why we built this
It shouldn’t take this much effort to figure out what to do around here.
But somehow it does.
You open a few tabs. Scroll a bit. Everything starts to look the same. Half of it is just a list. The other half doesn’t tell you anything useful. You end up guessing… or doing nothing.
We got tired of that.
So we built something we’d actually use.
What this is
CT Beacon is where you go when you don’t feel like digging. We already did that part. This isn’t a news site. It’s not trying to cover everything. It’s a guide.
We look at what’s out there and cut it down to what’s actually worth your time. Not what sounds good. Not what got posted everywhere else. What’s actually a decent way to spend a night.
Some weeks there’s a lot.
Some weeks… not so much.
We’re fine saying that too.
How we do it
We pick. That’s the whole thing. We don’t list everything. We don’t pretend everything is great. If something feels like a stretch, we don’t include it. If something’s just okay, we’ll say that. The goal isn’t to hype things up. It’s to save you time. You shouldn’t have to work this hard just to make a plan.
Where this comes from
We know the area. We also know how easy it is to waste a night scrolling, trying to figure out if something is actually worth leaving the house for. So we treat this like a filter. Not a feed. Not a calendar you have to sort through. A filter.

Sometimes things here are sponsored. When they are, you’ll know. But nothing shows up just because it’s paid. If it doesn’t fit, it doesn’t get included. That part doesn’t change. This only works if you trust it. We’re not trading that for a free ticket.
