Restless Road plays the Wolf Den at Mohegan Sun on Saturday, August 29, for a free 8 p.m. concert.
Zach Beeken, Garrett Nichols and Colton Pack have built the Nashville-based trio around something country music has always done particularly well: harmony. Three distinct voices come together over songs about relationships, growing older, small-town life and the messy territory between falling in love and watching it fall apart.
It’s a formula that has carried Restless Road beyond 300 million career streams, attracted more than 5 million social media followers and taken the trio from Nashville to sold-out headlining shows in New York and London.
On Saturday night, you can see them at the Wolf Den without buying a ticket.
Three Voices That Found Each Other the Long Way Around
Restless Road’s story didn’t begin with three friends starting a band in a garage.
It began on television.
Zach Beeken and Colton Pack competed separately on the third season of The X Factor in 2013 before being brought together as part of a new country group. Restless Road was born, eventually advancing to the semifinals of the competition.
The lineup would change in the years that followed. Garrett Nichols joined the group in 2015, while Pack spent time away before eventually returning.
The result is today’s trio: Beeken, Nichols and Pack.
Their voices are different enough that each remains recognizable on its own. Put them together, though, and those differences become the point.
Rather than building the music around one dominant frontman with two backing singers, Restless Road uses all three voices as part of its identity.
Kane Brown Helped Put Them Back on the Road
Another future country star was around during those early television days.
Kane Brown crossed paths with members of Restless Road before either act had established the careers they have today.
Years later, Restless Road posted a cover of Brown’s “Good as You.” The connection was rekindled, and Brown became an important part of the group’s next chapter.
Restless Road eventually signed through Brown’s label partnership with Sony Music Nashville and joined him on tour.
Brown also appeared on the trio’s 2020 recording of “Take Me Home,” which draws from John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads.”
The collaboration helped introduce the group’s harmonies to a much larger country audience.
Then Came “Growing Old With You”
Restless Road found its breakthrough with a love song.
“Growing Old With You” reached No. 1 on SiriusXM’s The Highway and became one of the group’s signature recordings.
It’s an uncomplicated premise: finding the person you don’t just want today, but the person you want beside you decades from now.
That emphasis on the song and the voices rather than production tricks proved particularly well suited to Restless Road.
The trio later performed “Growing Old With You” on ABC’s The Bachelor, giving the group another national showcase.
By then, the road was getting considerably less restless.
18 Songs for a First Album
Restless Road released its debut full-length album, Last Rodeo, in 2023.
They didn’t ease into it.
The album arrived with 18 tracks, giving Beeken, Nichols and Pack room to explore several sides of contemporary country rather than constructing an album around one successful single.
“Growing Old With You” is there, alongside “Bar Friends,” “Sundown Somewhere,” “On My Way,” “I Don’t Wanna Be That Guy” and the title track.
The songs also reflect different stages of relationships and life, moving between commitment, heartbreak, friendship and the uncertainty that comes before somebody figures out which direction they’re headed.
Members of the trio contributed to the writing throughout the album, including the title track.
From Nashville to London
Restless Road has spent much of the years since building its reputation the old-fashioned way.
They’ve toured.
The trio has shared the road with Kane Brown, Tim McGraw, Russell Dickerson, Cole Swindell and Brett Young, among others, while also making festival appearances at Stagecoach and CMA Fest.
Their own Last Rodeo Tour demonstrated that an audience was willing to come specifically for them.
Restless Road sold out New York City’s Gramercy Theatre, Nashville’s Brooklyn Bowl and Lafayette in London.
The group has also made repeated trips overseas, including an appearance at the massive C2C: Country to Country festival in the United Kingdom.
That’s a long way from three singers trying to survive a television competition.
New Music Keeps the Story Moving
Last Rodeo established the band, but Restless Road hasn’t stopped there.
More recent releases include “Last Thing I Deserve,” “Goin’ Out Like That” and “Done It By Now,” continuing the group’s move beyond its debut album while keeping the three-part vocals at the center.
That matters for Saturday’s Wolf Den show.
This isn’t a nostalgia appearance built around one hit from several years ago. Restless Road is still in the middle of building its career, releasing new music and expanding an audience that has already reached well beyond the United States.
A Big Act in a Small Room
And that’s what makes the Wolf Den date interesting.
Restless Road has played major country festivals, toured with some of Nashville’s biggest stars and sold out its own headlining dates in New York, Nashville and London.
The Wolf Den is different.
Located inside Mohegan Sun’s Casino of the Earth, it’s an intimate room where the audience surrounds a stage that feels unusually close compared with the arenas and festival grounds Restless Road has become accustomed to playing.
Even better, admission is free.
There is a catch.
Capacity is limited.

Wolf Den seating is first-come, first-served, and reservations aren’t available.
Guests can begin lining up no earlier than three hours before showtime. One person may hold up to four places in line, but everyone must be present when seating begins.
The venue is restricted to guests 21 and older.
The Wolf Den is also non-smoking and offers full beverage service during performances.
With an act that has accumulated hundreds of millions of streams appearing in such a small room for free, this probably isn’t the Saturday to wander over a few minutes before 8 and assume you’ll find a seat.
Three Voices, One Saturday Night
There are plenty of ways to make country music sound enormous.
You can add more guitars. Bigger drums. More production.
Restless Road found another way.
Start with three voices that don’t sound the same.
Then let them sing together.
Saturday night at the Wolf Den strips away some of the scale surrounding a band that has spent the past several years getting steadily bigger. No arena. No giant festival field. No expensive ticket.
Just Beeken, Nichols and Pack in one of Mohegan Sun’s smallest rooms.
And those harmonies don’t need much space.
