Mastering Craft Mixology at Kitch
Mastering Craft Mixology at Kitch allows aspiring home bartenders to learn professional cocktail techniques from one of the country’s leading spirits educators on Friday, August 7, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Held at Kitch in Mystic, this hands-on class explores the history, science, and techniques behind classic cocktails while teaching participants how to create bar-quality drinks at home.
The evening is led by Chef Anthony Caporale, an internationally recognized mixology author, educator, and consultant who serves as Director of Spirits Education and Research at New York City’s acclaimed Institute of Culinary Education. Caporale has spent more than a decade teaching beverage professionals, authored the cocktail chapter of Recipes for Innovation, produced the long-running Off-Broadway musical series The Imbible, appeared on the Smithsonian Channel, and curated the Temperance and Trade exhibition at Mystic Seaport Museum. His classes blend entertaining storytelling with practical instruction, making complex cocktail techniques approachable for beginners and enthusiasts alike.
Participants will learn the fundamentals behind three iconic cocktails: a Craft Old Fashioned, a Classic Daiquiri, and an Ultimate Espresso Martini. Along the way, Caporale explains the ingredients, techniques, and creative thinking that distinguish top cocktail bars from the average home setup. Premium spirits for the class are provided by Spencer & Lynn Wine and Spirit Merchants of downtown Mystic.
