TerrifiCon 2026 at Mohegan Sun
TerrifiCon 2026 returns to Mohegan Sun’s Earth Expo & Convention Center from Friday, August 7, through Sunday, August 9, bringing together thousands of comic book fans, movie lovers, gamers, collectors, and cosplayers for three days of celebrity appearances, comic creators, exclusive collectibles, panels, cosplay, gaming, and family-friendly entertainment. Now in its fifteenth year and produced by Big Fedora Marketing, TerrifiCon has become Connecticut’s largest comic convention and one of the premier pop culture events in New England.
Founded in 2012 and hosted at Mohegan Sun since 2015, TerrifiCon celebrates every corner of pop culture. Visitors can meet legendary comic book creators, television and film stars, voice actors, wrestlers, and artists while exploring hundreds of vendor booths filled with comic books, original artwork, toys, games, statues, trading cards, cosplay accessories, and rare collectibles. Artist Alley offers fans the opportunity to meet many of the industry’s most influential writers and illustrators, making the convention just as exciting for lifelong comic readers as it is for casual movie fans.
One of the biggest draws each year is the celebrity lineup. The 2026 convention features appearances from stars including Priscilla Presley, Patrick Warburton, Lea Thompson, Charisma Carpenter, Ron Perlman, Theo Rossi, Emilio Rivera, Frank Whaley, Tyler Mane, Diedrich Bader, Sgt. Slaughter, and cast members from Peacemaker, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Rick and Morty, Phineas & Ferb, Star Wars animation, and many more. Fans can purchase autographs, selfies, professional photo opportunities, and select combo packages directly from participating guests.
Comic book fans will also find one of the strongest creator lineups in the country. Legendary artists and writers including Jim Lee, Chris Claremont, Jeph Loeb, Walter Simonson, Dan Jurgens, Jim Starlin, Mike Grell, Jerry Ordway, Al Milgrom, Mike DeCarlo, and dozens of additional creators will be meeting fans, signing books, sketching artwork, and participating in panels throughout the weekend.
TerrifiCon is far more than an autograph show. Throughout the weekend visitors can attend panel discussions, Q&A sessions, gaming events, Jedi training, cosplay meetups, professional photo ops, artist demonstrations, and family programming. Sunday features free children’s entertainment along with the convention’s annual Costume Parade and Cosplay Contest, where fans compete for awards recognizing the best superheroes, villains, anime characters, video game characters, performances, and audience favorite costumes.
Cosplay remains one of TerrifiCon’s signature attractions. Fans of every age are encouraged to attend dressed as their favorite comic book, movie, television, anime, or gaming characters. Costume props are welcome after passing the convention’s required security inspection, although real weapons and metal blades are prohibited. Because of Mohegan Sun gaming regulations, masks and full-face helmets may be worn throughout the convention areas but must be removed before entering the casino gaming floor. Detailed cosplay and prop policies are available through the convention organizers.
The convention is designed as a family-friendly event. Children under 10 receive free admission with a paid adult, Sunday includes additional children’s programming, and attendees have access to Mohegan Sun’s restaurants, shopping, arcades, entertainment venues, and hotel throughout the weekend. Free parking is available for all guests, and many Mohegan Sun restaurants and retailers traditionally offer discounts to attendees who present their TerrifiCon badges. Visitors needing a break can also take advantage of panel rooms, quiet spaces, ADA services, charging stations, and other amenities available throughout the resort.
