KAHN ARTIST: Madeline and Me comes to The Knickerbocker on Friday, July 31, at 7:00 p.m. for an evening of comedy, music, and storytelling celebrating the legendary career of actress and comedian Madeline Kahn. Performed by Eden Casteel and directed by Tony Award winner Faith Prince, this one-woman musical takes audiences on a heartfelt and hilarious journey through Casteel’s lifelong admiration for one of comedy’s most beloved performers.
Co-written by Eden Casteel and Rod Ferguson, Madeline & Me blends personal stories with songs made famous by Kahn, whose unforgettable performances in Mel Brooks classics including Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, and High Anxiety helped establish her as one of Hollywood’s greatest comedic talents. Inspired by a childhood dream sparked after seeing Kahn in a television commercial, Casteel explores how that admiration shaped her own career while celebrating Kahn’s wit, musical gifts, and enduring legacy. Musical direction by Jim Rice and Bobby Peaco brings the show’s memorable score to life with humor, warmth, and plenty of theatrical flair.
