Meet the Fleet

Meet the Fleet celebrates Stonington’s working waterfront by giving visitors the chance to meet the fishermen and vessels that have helped define the borough’s maritime heritage for generations. Held on Saturday, July 25, at the Stonington Borough Town Dock, the event is part of the community’s annual Blessing of the Fleet weekend and offers an afternoon dedicated to the people, traditions, and industries that continue to shape one of Connecticut’s busiest commercial fishing ports.

Throughout the afternoon, guests can stroll the waterfront, explore commercial fishing vessels, and learn more about the equipment and techniques used by the local fleet. Interactive exhibits, family-friendly activities, and demonstrations provide opportunities to learn about the fishing industry while celebrating the community that supports it.

Live music and a raw bar begin at 2 p.m., adding to the festive waterfront atmosphere. As the afternoon concludes, the celebration continues just a short walk away at the Portuguese Holy Ghost Society with food and live music, extending the festivities into the evening.
