Blessing of the Fleet 5K Road Race & 2 Mile Walk
The Blessing of the Fleet 5K Road Race & 2 Mile Walk returns to historic Stonington Borough for its 10th annual event, giving runners and walkers the opportunity to take part in one of the community’s favorite summer traditions. Held in conjunction with the renowned Blessing of the Fleet celebration, the event features a certified, professionally timed 5K course through the scenic streets of the Borough, along with a non-competitive 2-mile walk for participants of all ages and abilities.
Beginning and ending at the historic Town Dock, the race showcases the charm of Stonington’s waterfront, passing classic New England homes, fishing boats, and picturesque streets before returning to the finish line. Whether you’re competing for a personal best or simply enjoying an evening walk through one of Connecticut’s most beautiful coastal villages, the event offers a memorable way to celebrate the community while supporting a longstanding local tradition.
Participants who register by the early registration deadline will receive an official commemorative 2026 race T-shirt and race bib. Families, seasoned runners, casual walkers, and visitors are all encouraged to take part in an event that combines fitness, community spirit, and one of southeastern Connecticut’s signature summer celebrations.

Race Day Schedule
- 4:00 PM – Bib and race bag pickup begins
- 5:45 PM – All runners and walkers should report to the starting line for final instructions
- 6:00 PM – 5K Road Race begins
- Walkers begin their route shortly after the race start

Parking is available at:
- St. Mary Church parking lot
- Stonington Town Dock
- Nearby side streets surrounding St. Mary Church
Participants arriving early for bib pickup may park at the Town Dock while space is available.
