The WoodenBoat Show at the Mystic Seaport Museum
The WoodenBoat Show at the Mystic Seaport Museum from June 26 through 28, bringing one of the country’s premier celebrations of traditional wooden boats and maritime craftsmanship to the Connecticut shoreline. Hosted in partnership with WoodenBoat Publications, the three-day event draws wooden boat enthusiasts, sailors, builders, collectors, and maritime history fans from across the Northeast for a weekend centered around classic boats, waterfront culture, and hands-on craftsmanship. Show hours run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, with museum exhibitions open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
More than 100 traditional and classic wooden boats will be on display throughout the museum grounds and waterfront, ranging from handcrafted kayaks and mahogany runabouts to classic daysailers and large schooners. The event transforms Mystic Seaport Museum into a gathering place for people passionate about boatbuilding, sailing, restoration, and maritime design, while also giving casual visitors a rare chance to experience an enormous variety of wooden vessels in one location. Walking the docks and exhibits during the show offers a mix of craftsmanship, nautical history, and shoreline summer atmosphere that fits naturally into Mystic’s waterfront setting.
The WoodenBoat Show combines museum exhibitions, working waterfront scenery, and the timeless appeal of classic wooden boats into one of the region’s signature summer maritime events. Visitors can spend the day exploring the exhibits, meeting boat owners and builders, and experiencing the atmosphere of Mystic’s historic seaport village while surrounded by some of the finest wooden boats on the water. Free parking is available, with limited reserved paid parking also offered for attendees.
