The Knickerbocker All-Stars with Darcel Wilson & Willie J. Laws at Summer Pops

The Knickerbocker All-Stars with Darcel Wilson & Willie J. Laws bring the sounds of classic rhythm and blues, soul, swing, and blues to Summer Pops 2026 in Westerly on Saturday, June 20. Performing as part of one of the region’s signature summer traditions, the acclaimed nine-piece band joins the Chorus of Westerly and Pops Festival Orchestra for an evening of music, community, and fireworks in beautiful Wilcox Park.

Rooted in the rich musical legacy of the legendary Knickerbocker Music Center, the All-Stars celebrate the dance music that helped make the Westerly venue famous worldwide. Featuring some of New England’s most accomplished musicians, the band has shared stages and recording sessions with blues and soul greats including Jimmie Vaughan, Marcia Ball, Sugaray Rayford, Curtis Salgado, and many others. Joined by powerhouse vocalists Darcel Wilson and Willie J. Laws, audiences can expect an energetic performance filled with soulful vocals, horn-driven arrangements, and classic rhythms designed to get people on their feet.

The evening also features performances by the Chorus of Westerly and Pops Festival Orchestra under the direction of Andrew Howell, along with carillonneur Ryan Saunders and a fireworks finale by Fireworks by Grucci. Combining world-class musicianship with one of Rhode Island’s most beloved community celebrations, Summer Pops offers a memorable start to the summer season.
