Gungywamp Hike offers a guided exploration of one of southeastern Connecticut’s most intriguing landscapes on Saturday, June 20. Located in Groton, the site combines natural beauty with local history, making it a favorite destination for hikers, history enthusiasts, and anyone drawn to unsolved mysteries.
Participants will hike approximately two miles through forests, rocky ridges, wetlands, and glacial terrain while learning about the site’s natural and cultural significance. Along the way, guides will highlight features including stone shelters, glacial erratics, and other structures whose origins remain open to interpretation, adding to Gungywamp’s enduring fascination.
