DESCRIPTION:CT FPA Trails Day 2026: Hike The Historic Pequot Trail in Mystic invites participants to explore one of Mystic’s most scenic and historically significant natural areas on Saturday\, June 6. Sponsored by the Mystic River Historical Society\, this guided group hike follows a three-mile loop through the 140-acre Pequot Woods Park\, featuring wooded trails\, streams\, bridges\, ponds\, and peaceful overlooks. \nThe moderately paced hike covers varied terrain with minimal elevation gain\, making it suitable for families and hikers of most experience levels. Dogs are welcome but must remain leashed throughout the event. Because portions of the trail can be muddy or wet\, participants are encouraged to wear sturdy footwear. A rain date has been scheduled for Sunday\, June 7. \nBeyond its natural beauty\, Pequot Woods holds an important place in local history. The area lies near the site of the 1637 conflict known as the Mystic Massacre\, and portions of the battle extended into what is now the park. Today\, hikers can experience a landscape that combines natural beauty with centuries of New England history. \n
