June 27 will be spent touring privately owned homes and gardens on a self-guided walking tour. Participating homes and gardens have been selected for their architectural significance and beautifully landscaped grounds. What better place to paint than out in the open? Many artists will be on hand painting the village’s scenic landscapes and historic homes while visitors tour. \nWhile Noank may be best known as a fishing village and a center for boatbuilding\, it was also a quietly influential art colony at the turn of the twentieth century. Henry Ward Ranger\, Robert Brackman\, Lars Thorsen and Reynolds Beal are just a few of the artists who vacationed or settled in Noank and found endless inspiration in waterfront views\, historic homes\, farms and the working harbor.
