SUMMARY:Labor Day Weekend at Stonington Vineyards
DESCRIPTION:Labor Day Weekend at Stonington Vineyards stretches across three days\, September 5–7\, with live music\, food vendors and wine on the vineyard grounds in Stonington. \nThe holiday weekend is part of the vineyard’s Summer Pop-Ups series\, a collection of casual events designed to add live acoustic music and visiting food vendors to a regular afternoon at the winery. Unlike Stonington Vineyards’ ticketed summer Friday concerts\, no tickets are required for the Labor Day weekend pop-ups. Guests can simply visit the vineyard. \nEach day gets a different musical act and food vendor. Saturday brings Violet Theory and South County BBQ. James Harris performs Sunday with Jayy’s Food Truck on site. The weekend concludes Monday with Dillon & Nicole and food from the Mystic Lions. \nThat makes this less a conventional three-day festival than three consecutive afternoons at the vineyard\, each with its own music and food. \nSaturday: Violet Theory and South County BBQ\nSaturday\, September 5\, starts the weekend with Violet Theory performing from 3 to 6 p.m. \nViolet Theory is a familiar name on the southeastern Connecticut and Rhode Island live-music circuit\, with a calendar that takes the group through wineries\, restaurants\, breweries\, waterfront venues and other gathering spots across the region. \nThe group performs in several configurations\, including duo and trio arrangements. \nFor the Stonington Vineyards appearance\, the winery is pairing the music with South County BBQ. \nSaturday also offers the longest regular vineyard hours of the holiday weekend. Stonington Vineyards’ current summer schedule has the winery open from noon until 7 p.m. Saturdays\, leaving plenty of time before and after Violet Theory’s three-hour set. \nGuests don’t have to arrive precisely when the music starts. The pop-up is intended to complement an afternoon at the winery rather than operate like a concert with a fixed gate time. \nSunday: James Harris and Jayy’s Food Truck\nThe pace shifts earlier Sunday\, September 6. \nJames Harris performs from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.\, providing three hours of live music during the middle of the winery’s Sunday hours. \nFood comes from Jayy’s Food Truck. \nStonington Vineyards is open from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday\, giving visitors time on either side of the performance for tastings and wine on the grounds. \nIt’s also worth knowing that Sunday is one of the days Stonington Vineyards normally offers a complimentary winery tour. Those tours are subject to the winery’s current schedule and conditions\, so visitors interested in combining a tour with the Labor Day weekend activities should confirm availability with the vineyard. \nMonday: Dillon & Nicole and the Mystic Lions\nStonington Vineyards keeps the weekend going through Labor Day itself. \nOn Monday\, September 7\, Dillon & Nicole perform from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. \nThe Mystic Lions will handle the food\, serving hot dogs\, meatball grinders and corn on the cob. \nThat gives Monday a particularly local character. \nThe Mystic Lions Club is part of Lions Clubs International’s network of community service organizations\, with local Lions projects traditionally supporting charitable and community causes. \nThe vineyard remains open from noon to 6 p.m. Monday. \nWith the music ending at 4:30\, visitors still have another hour and a half before the winery’s scheduled closing time. \nThree Days\, Three Different Visits\nOne useful thing about the Labor Day weekend schedule is that it doesn’t require committing to an entire festival. \nThere is no three-day pass. \nThere isn’t a single stage running continuously all weekend. \nInstead\, Stonington Vineyards has essentially expanded its Summer Pop-Ups concept across the holiday. \nSaturday is Violet Theory and South County BBQ. \nSunday is James Harris and Jayy’s. \nMonday is Dillon & Nicole and the Mystic Lions. \nSomeone could choose whichever combination sounds best\, or return for more than one afternoon. \nAnd because these are pop-ups rather than ticketed concerts\, the vineyard says no tickets are required. \nOne of Connecticut’s Early Wine-Trail Vineyards\nThe setting has been part of Connecticut’s modern wine industry for decades. \nStonington Vineyards is a founding member of the Connecticut Wine Trail and sits at 523 Taugwonk Road\, away from the busier coastal roads connecting Mystic\, Stonington and Westerly. \nThe vineyard’s proximity to the Atlantic Ocean and Long Island Sound isn’t merely useful for attracting visitors. \nIt also affects the grapes. \nStonington Vineyards describes its location as having a maritime microclimate shaped by nearby ocean waters\, moderating temperatures in a way the winery compares to the conditions found in Bordeaux. \nApproximately 6.5 acres are planted with Chardonnay and another 3.5 acres with Cabernet Franc. \nThe vineyard also emphasizes relatively low yields\, cluster thinning and hand harvesting as part of its approach to winemaking. \nChardonnay Has a Particular Place Here\nStonington Vineyards has built much of its reputation around white wine\, particularly Chardonnay. \nThe property’s combination of soils and coastal climate helped shape the varieties planted there\, with Chardonnay becoming an important part of the vineyard. \nCabernet Franc provides the primary red grape planting. \nThe winery’s broader lineup has also included Riesling\, rosé and its popular Seaport White blend. \nFor visitors who want to sample rather than commit immediately to a bottle\, regular tastings are part of the experience. \nStonington Vineyards currently prices its standard tasting at $16 per person including tax\, with six wine samples and a souvenir glass. \nThe winery stops tastings approximately 30 minutes before closing. \nBring a Picnic If the Food Truck Isn’t Enough\nThe visiting food vendors aren’t the only food option. \nStonington Vineyards explicitly allows visitors to bring their own picnic food and snacks. \nThat’s useful for a holiday weekend when groups may want to settle onto the grounds for several hours rather than simply stop for a tasting. \nThe winery itself doesn’t operate a full restaurant. It carries smaller food items such as crackers\, cheeses\, nuts\, jams and pretzels\, along with flight boxes designed to accompany wine. \nOutside food is welcome. \nOutside alcohol is not. \nStonington Vineyards’ farm winery and craft café license prohibits guests from bringing other alcoholic beverages onto the property. Anyone bringing a cooler for a picnic should keep it to food and nonalcoholic drinks. \nWine and other beverages licensed for sale by the vineyard are available on site. \nLawn Chairs and a Slower Afternoon\nStonington Vineyards’ outdoor events tend to make use of one of the property’s biggest assets: space. \nRather than treating live music as something that requires everyone to stand in front of a stage\, the vineyard’s summer programming encourages the kind of afternoon where people settle in with wine and food. \nThe property includes lawn space\, patios and decks overlooking the vineyard. \nFor the vineyard’s larger summer concerts\, lawn chairs and blankets are explicitly encouraged\, and that same relaxed outdoor approach is a natural fit for the smaller Summer Pop-Ups. \nThe Labor Day weekend schedule also spreads the music through the afternoon rather than pushing it into nighttime. \nSaturday’s performance runs 3–6 p.m. \nSunday and Monday run 1:30–4:30 p.m. \nIt’s daytime wine-country rather than late-night nightlife. \nA Labor Day Weekend Alternative to the Coast\nThe location also provides a contrast with what will be happening a few miles away. \nLabor Day weekend is traditionally busy along the southeastern Connecticut and Rhode Island shoreline. Mystic\, downtown Westerly and the beaches can all attract holiday crowds. \nStonington Vineyards sits inland on Taugwonk Road\, surrounded by the landscape that produces its wines. \nThe entertainment remains decidedly local: regional musicians\, area food vendors and a community organization closing out the weekend on Monday. \nThere isn’t an elaborate festival itinerary to follow. \nChoose an afternoon. \nBring some people. \nFind something to eat. \nListen to the band. \nAnd figure out what’s going in the wine glass. \nSaturday\, September 5\nMusic: Violet Theory\nMusic Time: 3–6 p.m.\nFood: South County BBQ\nVineyard Hours: Noon–7 p.m.\nAdmission: No ticket required \nSunday\, September 6\nMusic: James Harris\nMusic Time: 1:30–4:30 p.m.\nFood: Jayy’s Food Truck\nVineyard Hours: Noon–6 p.m.\nAdmission: No ticket required \nMonday\, September 7\nMusic: Dillon & Nicole\nMusic Time: 1:30–4:30 p.m.\nFood: Mystic Lions\nFood Menu: Hot dogs\, meatball grinders and corn on the cob\nVineyard Hours: Noon–6 p.m.\nAdmission: No ticket required \nEvent Details\nEvent: Labor Day Weekend at Stonington Vineyards\nDates: Saturday\, September 5 through Monday\, September 7\, 2026\nVenue: Stonington Vineyards\nAddress: 523 Taugwonk Road\, Stonington\, CT 06378\nSaturday Hours: Noon–7 p.m.\nSunday Hours: Noon–6 p.m.\nMonday Hours: Noon–6 p.m.\nAdmission: No tickets required for the Summer Pop-Ups\nActivities: Wine\, live music and visiting food vendors\nOutside Food: Picnics and snacks are welcome\nOutside Alcohol: Not permitted \n\n  \nFeatured image is an artistic representation inspired by the event and may not depict the actual people\, location\, or activities shown. \n

SUMMARY:Stonington Village Farmers Market
DESCRIPTION:Stonington Village Farmers Market has become one of the defining Saturday morning traditions along the Connecticut shoreline\, bringing together local farms\, food vendors\, artisans\, musicians\, and neighbors inside and outside the historic Velvet Mill. Running year-round since becoming a permanent seasonal fixture in 2008\, the market transforms with the seasons\, moving outdoors during the warmer months and indoors during late fall and winter while continuing to serve as a gathering place for the community. \nThe market offers far more than produce stands. Visitors can browse locally grown vegetables and fruits\, cheeses\, baked goods\, meats\, seafood\, maple syrup\, flowers\, mushrooms\, prepared foods\, and handmade crafts while live music plays in the background. The atmosphere feels distinctly coastal New England\, blending small-town community energy with the creativity and food culture that defines Stonington Village. Families\, dog owners\, and longtime locals mingle throughout the morning while vendors showcase everything from handmade soaps and pottery to organic kombucha and Mediterranean cuisine. \nWhat makes the Stonington Village Farmers Market stand out is how deeply connected it feels to the rhythm of the region itself. Some visitors arrive early for greenhouse spinach or fresh seafood before it sells out\, while others come simply to wander with coffee in hand and reconnect with neighbors. Between the local farmers\, prepared food vendors\, musicians\, and rotating artisan booths\, the market has evolved into more than a shopping destination. SUMMARY:Bespoke Endurance Swim Series
DESCRIPTION:Bespoke Endurance Swim Series is giving experienced open-water swimmers two final chances to get into the water before its summer Endurance Swim Series comes to a close\, beginning with a Saturday morning swim in Stonington on August 29. \nThe guided session runs from 8 to 10 a.m. and is designed for swimmers who already have some open-water experience and want something different from a traditional swimming lesson. \nThere’s less standing around talking technique. \nMore swimming. \nBuilt for Distance\, Not Instruction\nThe Endurance Swim Series was created for people ready to move beyond introductory open-water instruction and concentrate on endurance\, consistency and confidence. \nThat includes experienced recreational swimmers\, triathletes and participants who have previously completed BESPOKE’s instructional clinic. \nThe emphasis is on maximizing time in the water. \nEach organized swim is planned around local tides and conditions\, with routes and distances selected to give participants an appropriate open-water challenge. \nChoose Your Distance\nNot everyone has to swim at the same speed or cover the same distance. \nThe group naturally separates according to pace\, experience and individual goals\, allowing swimmers to find others moving at a comfortable speed. \nMost sessions offer as many as three distance options. \nThat gives someone training for a longer endurance event room to push farther while another swimmer can choose a route better suited to their current ability. \nDistances and overall swimming time have gradually increased as the summer has progressed\, making this late-August session one of the final opportunities to put that season of training to work. \nSafety Comes With You\nOpen-water swimming is very different from following the black line at the bottom of a pool. \nVisibility\, currents\, tides\, water temperature and weather all become part of the experience. \nBESPOKE requires participants to arrive with a brightly colored inflatable swim buoy and brightly colored swim cap so swimmers remain visible in the water. \nProper goggles and an appropriate swimsuit are also required. \nA swimming wetsuit is strongly encouraged\, particularly when water temperatures are cooler. \nThe sessions are fully supported and organized\, but swimmers still need prior open-water experience or appropriate preparation before participating. \nThe Water Sets the Schedule\nOne of the defining features of the series is that nature gets a vote. \nSessions are planned around the best available tides and swimming conditions rather than forcing every swim into the same weekly time slot. \nThat means dates\, times and locations can change if conditions aren’t considered safe. \nSaturday’s scheduled two-hour session begins at 8 a.m. at BESPOKE in Stonington. \nThe August 29 swim wasn’t part of the series’ original schedule. It was added as one of two final Endurance Swims to close the season\, with another scheduled for sunrise on Monday\, September 7. \nTwo More Chances\nFor swimmers who spent the summer meaning to join the group but never quite made it\, the season isn’t over yet. \nSaturday offers the first of those final two opportunities. \nThe second arrives on Labor Day morning at 6 a.m.\, turning the final swim into an early-morning outing as the sun comes up. \nSaturday’s session is limited to 18 swimmers. As of the most recent availability posted by BESPOKE\, 11 spaces remained. \nDrop-in admission is $45. \nThen it’s into the water. \nEvent Details\nEvent: BESPOKE Endurance Swim Series\nDate: Saturday\, August 29\, 2026\nTime: 8–10 a.m.\nLocation: BESPOKE\nAddress: 22 Bayview Avenue\, Stonington\, CT 06378\nInstructor: A.J. Massengale\nAdmission: $45 drop-in\nCapacity: 18 swimmers\nExperience: Prior open-water experience or completion of an instructional clinic recommended\nRequired Equipment: Brightly colored inflatable swim buoy\, brightly colored swim cap\, proper swim goggles and appropriate swimsuit\nWetsuit: Strongly encouraged\nWeather and Conditions: Session details are subject to change when conditions are unsafe\nFinal Series Swim: Monday\, September 7 at 6 a.m. \nBESPOKE’s Endurance Swim Series gives experienced open-water swimmers a supported environment for building distance\, stamina and confidence in the waters around Stonington. \nTo purchase a spot\, click the Event Ticketing link below. \n  \nFeatured image is an artistic representation inspired by the event and may not depict the actual people\, location\, or activities shown.

It has become a weekly community ritual that reflects the character\, creativity\, and agricultural roots of southeastern Connecticut. \nParticipating Vendors & Farms \n\nAPIS VERDI\nBroad Brook Acres\nDavis Farm\nISSA Catering\nJon Fish\nSeacoast Mushrooms\nSugar Maple Farms\nSweet Acre Farm\nWakin’ Up Waggin’\n18th Century Purity Farm\nStonyledge Farm and Studio Farm Products\nSummer Hill Catering\nCato Corner Farm\nTreatzles\nFiber + Mud\nYALLA\n\nSponsors & Organizers \n\nStonington Village Improvement Association (SVIA)\nVelvet Mill\n\n

SUMMARY:Sip ‘N’ Spin Pottery Workshops (21+)
DESCRIPTION:Sip ‘N’ Spin Pottery Workshops offer a hands-on creative night for adults looking to trade screens and stress for clay\, conversation\, and a little wine on Fridays through the summer. Designed as a relaxed social workshop for ages 21 and over\, the event combines pottery instruction with a bring-your-own-drink atmosphere that turns the evening into part art class\, part night out. \nThe workshop begins with a professional wheel-throwing demonstration before participants move into creating their own pottery pieces either on the wheel or through handbuilding techniques. Instructors guide guests through the process step-by-step\, making the experience approachable even for complete beginners who have never touched a pottery wheel before. Clay and firing for up to three finished creations are included as part of the workshop. \nWhat makes Sip ‘N’ Spin stand out is the balance between creativity and atmosphere. Rather than a formal class setting\, the evening leans into a casual\, social energy where guests can laugh through uneven bowls\, experiment with clay\, and enjoy drinks while trying something new. Whether it turns into date night\, friends night out\, or simply an excuse to unplug for a couple of hours\, the workshop offers one of the more unique creative experiences happening on the shoreline this month. \n

SUMMARY:Summer Thursday Music Series: Dave Alves + J&R Seafood Raw Bar at Saltwater Farm Vineyard
DESCRIPTION:Summer Thursday Music Series featuring Dave Alves + J&R Seafood Market raw bar brings live music\, local wine and fresh seafood together at Saltwater Farm Vineyard in Stonington on Thursday\, August 20. Guitarist Dave Alves performs from 5 to 7 p.m.\, while Mystic’s J&R Seafood Market sets up a raw bar for the evening. \nIt’s a particularly local combination. Alves has been part of southeastern Connecticut’s music scene for decades\, J&R was founded by Stonington fishermen\, and Saltwater Farm occupies a piece of Stonington land whose history stretches back more than 350 years. \nThe Thursday series is designed as a casual summer evening rather than a formal concert. Grab a glass or bottle of wine\, order something from the raw bar and find a spot overlooking the vineyard while Alves plays. \nAbout Dave Alves\nDave Alves is a longtime southeastern Connecticut guitarist whose career has moved through rock\, blues\, jazz\, funk and acoustic music. \nHe’s probably most familiar locally as a member of several regional projects and as a musician who regularly performs at vineyards\, restaurants\, festivals and other venues around southeastern Connecticut and Rhode Island. His playing allows him to move comfortably between familiar covers and more improvisational material\, making the smaller vineyard format a natural fit. \nAlves also performs in different configurations depending on the venue\, from solo appearances to the Dave Alves Trio. For the August 20 Saltwater Farm date\, he’s billed simply as Dave Alves\, putting the focus on the more intimate side of his playing. \nJ&R Brings the Raw Bar\nThe other half of Thursday’s pairing comes from nearby Mystic. \nJ&R Seafood Market grew from a business started in 2016 by John and Richie\, two former fishermen who grew up in Stonington and still live in town. Frustrated by what they saw as expensive\, lower-quality seafood\, they began using their fishing-industry relationships to supply fresher products to local chefs and markets. \nIt started with sea scallops. \nThe business expanded\, and the founders’ oldest children\, Allison and Andrew\, eventually opened the retail J&R Seafood Market at 45 Williams Avenue in Mystic. The market now sells fresh seafood along with house-made chowders\, prepared meals\, seafood dips\, sauces and other products. Seafood is delivered fresh daily and sourced from local waters whenever possible. \nRaw bars have become another part of J&R’s business. Its catered raw bars can include oysters\, littlenecks and shrimp cocktail\, along with options such as tuna poke and shrimp-avocado ceviche. The exact selection available at Saltwater Farm hasn’t been announced\, so consider those examples of what J&R offers rather than a guaranteed menu for Thursday. \nA Vineyard With an Unusual Past\nSaltwater Farm Vineyard has one of the more interesting backstories among Connecticut wineries. \nThe land’s agricultural history can be traced to 1653\, when Walter Palmer established a farm on roughly 230 acres surrounding Wequetequock Cove. Portions remained farmland into the early 20th century. \nThen airplanes arrived. \nIn the late 1930s\, William J. Foster established a small community airport on the property called Foster Field\, or Westone Airport. Its hangar was designed by Stonington architect and engineer John W. Lincoln\, who was involved in the development of the Quonset hut. \nAfter World War II\, the property briefly hosted commercial aviation and flight training. The hangar subsequently went through a much less glamorous stretch as a warehouse\, restaurant and manufacturing facility before sitting largely dormant. \nMichael Connery purchased 108 acres in 2001 and began transforming the former airfield into a vineyard while preserving its aviation history. The first vines were planted in 2003\, and the old hangar was eventually restored as the winery’s striking tasting room and event space. \nThe old airfield hasn’t completely disappeared\, either. A grassy landing strip remains part of the property. \nWine\, Seafood and a Thursday Evening\nSaltwater Farm’s Thursday music series continues through September 3 this summer\, with the vineyard remaining open until 7 p.m. on Thursdays and music beginning at 5. \nWine is available by the glass or bottle\, along with a selection of Connecticut craft beer and other beverages. Saltwater Farm is not currently offering traditional wine tastings. \nCheese\, crackers and other small bites are available for purchase\, and guests may bring their own food. On August 20\, of course\, there’s another option: let J&R do the shucking. \nNo outside alcohol is permitted. \nThe performance is rain or shine. Indoor table reservations can be requested in advance\, but the vineyard doesn’t reserve outdoor spaces. Leashed dogs are welcome outdoors\, and children are welcome when accompanied by an adult. \nEvent Details\nDate: Thursday\, August 20\, 2026 \nTime: 5:00–7:00 p.m. \nPerformer: Dave Alves \nSpecial Food Vendor: J&R Seafood Market raw bar \nLocation: Saltwater Farm Vineyard \nAddress: 349 Elm Street\, Stonington\, CT 06378 \nFood: J&R Seafood Market raw bar; cheese\, crackers and other small bites available. SUMMARY:Ben Freiert & Jeff Lewis at Dean’s Mill Farm
DESCRIPTION:Ben Freiert & Jeff Lewis at Dean’s Mill Farm bring acoustic indie\, folk and alternative music to Stonington on Sunday\, August 16\, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. The performance is part of the farm’s weekly Sunday Jam Sessions\, a free summer series pairing local musicians with food trucks\, drinks\, lawn games and an open-air beer garden. \nFreiert and Lewis have been playing together around southeastern Connecticut and Rhode Island for years\, including appearances at Stonington Vineyards and Grey Sail Brewing. Freiert handles guitar\, piano\, and vocals\, while Lewis adds percussion and guitar\, giving the duo a fuller sound without turning the afternoon into a full-band show. \nThe surroundings are a big part of this one. Deans Mill Farm Bed & Breakfast occupies more than 70 acres off Pequot Trail\, with restored historic farm buildings\, meadows\, horses and open fields. On summer Sundays\, part of that property becomes a casual beer garden where families can grab food\, order a drink and settle in for three hours of music. \nAbout Ben Freiert\nBen Freiert is a Stonington-based musician whose performances mix indie\, folk and alternative music on guitar and piano. \nHis musical background goes back more than two decades. He began playing trumpet in middle school and later formed the original rock band Twenty Grand while in college\, performing near campus and in New York City before eventually settling into the southeastern Connecticut music scene. \nThese days\, Freiert is one of those musicians who seems to turn up everywhere once summer arrives. His 2026 schedule has included performances at Dean’s Mill Farm\, Saltwater Farm Vineyard and Kingdom of the Hawk Vineyard\, with another appearance scheduled for Stonington Vineyards later in August. \nThe Sunday Jam setting fits the music particularly well. This isn’t a concert where everybody needs to sit silently facing the stage. Freiert’s acoustic approach works in the background while people eat and talk\, but there’s enough going on musically that you can just as easily settle in and listen. \nBen Freiert & Jeff Lewis\nFreiert and Jeff Lewis have an established history as a duo rather than being two musicians randomly paired for this particular Sunday. \nLewis accompanies Freiert on percussion and guitar\, adding rhythm and another instrumental layer while maintaining the flexibility of an acoustic duo. \nThey’ve appeared together around the region for years. Grey Sail Brewing booked Ben Freiert & Jeff Lewis for multiple summer performances in 2021\, while the pair were featured performers during Stonington Vineyards’ Summer Kickoff Weekend in 2024. \nSunday Jams at Dean’s Mill Farm\nThe Sunday Jam Sessions run throughout the warmer months at Dean’s Mill Farm\, with live music scheduled every Sunday from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. The series continues into October\, weather permitting. \nAdmission is free\, and the atmosphere is deliberately casual. Food trucks rotate through the farm\, while the beer garden serves local craft beer\, wine and canned cocktails. Lawn games and open-air seating give people plenty to do without having to treat the afternoon like a formal concert. \nThe series is also family-friendly\, making it an easy Sunday afternoon option for parents who want live music without taking the kids to a bar or nighttime venue. \nThere are two rules worth knowing before you pack the car: outside alcohol isn’t permitted\, and animals aren’t allowed. \nFrom an 18th-Century Farm to a Summer Beer Garden\nDean’s Mill Farm dates to the mid-1700s\, when the property operated as a livestock farm. \nAfter extensive renovations\, the historic buildings and surrounding acreage have been repurposed into a private event venue and five-room bed and breakfast while preserving the property’s rural character. \nThe farm shares its 70-plus acres with Dragonfly Equestrian Center\, so dozens of horses remain part of the landscape. Meadows\, fields and hiking areas surround the property\, and there’s even a 19-hole Dragonfly Disc Golf Course at Dean’s Mill Farm winding through old livestock fields\, stone walls and wooded sections of the farm. \nOn Sundays\, though\, you don’t need a horse\, a disc or much of a plan. \nFind a seat. Get something cold to drink. Ben Freiert and Jeff Lewis start at 2:30. \nEvent Details\nDate: Sunday\, August 16\, 2026 \nTime: 2:30–5:30 p.m. \nPerformers: Ben Freiert & Jeff Lewis \nSeries: Sunday Jam Sessions \nLocation: Dean’s Mill Farm Beer Garden \nAddress: 1189 Pequot Trail\, Stonington\, CT 06378 \nAdmission: Free \nMusic: Indie\, folk and alternative acoustic music \nFood: Food trucks available \nDrinks: Local craft beer\, wine\, canned cocktails and other beverages available for purchase \nFamily Friendly: Yes \nOutside Alcohol: Not permitted \nPets: No animals permitted \nWeather: Outdoor event; weather permitting.
It has become a weekly community ritual that reflects the character\, creativity\, and agricultural roots of southeastern Connecticut. \nParticipating Vendors & Farms \n\nAPIS VERDI\nBroad Brook Acres\nDavis Farm\nISSA Catering\nJon Fish\nSeacoast Mushrooms\nSugar Maple Farms\nSweet Acre Farm\nWakin’ Up Waggin’\n18th Century Purity Farm\nStonyledge Farm and Studio Farm Products\nSummer Hill Catering\nCato Corner Farm\nTreatzles\nFiber + Mud\nYALLA\n\nSponsors & Organizers \n\nStonington Village Improvement Association (SVIA)\nVelvet Mill\n\n

SUMMARY:Stonington Vineyards Summer Concert Series – Dave Alves Trio
DESCRIPTION:Stonington Vineyards Summer Concert Series – Dave Alves Trio brings live music back to the vineyard lawn on Friday\, August 14\, for three hours of music\, local wine\, food\, and a summer evening outdoors. The Dave Alves Trio performs from 6 to 9 p.m. as part of Stonington Vineyards’ long-running Friday night tradition\, with 20% of ticket proceeds from each concert supporting a local nonprofit or community organization. (Stonington Vineyards) \nGuests aren’t confined to tables or a formal concert setup. Bring a lawn chair or blanket\, spread out on the grass\, and settle in for the evening. Picnic dinners are welcome\, wine is sold by the glass\, flight or bottle\, and Fire in the Kitchen Pizza is scheduled to serve food during the series. \nThe setting is a big part of the appeal. Stonington Vineyards sits on 58 acres in the Stonington Uplands between Mystic and Stonington Borough\, where vines have been growing since before the winery opened nearly four decades ago. On summer Fridays\, the lawn becomes a casual outdoor concert venue\, with the music starting while there’s still plenty of daylight and continuing toward sunset. \nAbout the Dave Alves Trio\nDave Alves is a familiar guitarist to southeastern Connecticut audiences\, with a career rooted in the region’s live music scene. \nThe trio format gives Alves room to put the guitar at the center of the performance while keeping the sound compact enough for the vineyard setting. Rather than the volume and staging of a large festival show\, the music fits the Summer Concert Series’ laid-back format: an evening where people can listen from their chairs\, share a picnic and a bottle of wine\, or move closer to the music as the night goes on. \nThe Dave Alves Trio performs from 6 to 9 p.m. \nA Friday Night Tradition at the Vineyard\nStonington Vineyards’ Summer Concert Series runs every Friday through July and August\, bringing a different regional performer to the property each week. \nThe 2026 schedule stretches across 10 Friday nights from late June through August. The Dave Alves Trio follows performances by The Fake Experience\, Pirates for Peace\, Violet Theory\, Azalea Drive\, Brad Bensko\, Luke & Mike and 2 Cat Zoo. Ben Freiert and the T-Tones Band close out the season later in August. \nThe concerts aren’t simply a way to fill the vineyard lawn on Friday nights. Twenty percent of ticket proceeds are donated to a local charity or organization each week. Earlier concerts in the 2026 series have benefited organizations including Girls on the Run\, the Ocean Community Chamber of Commerce\, Stand Up For Animals\, the WARM Center\, Safe Futures\, Always Home and the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center. (Connecticut (CT) Wine Trail) \nThe charity benefiting from the August 14 Dave Alves Trio concert has not yet been announced. \nNearly 40 Years of Stonington Wine\nStonington Vineyards was established by Nick and Happy Smith in 1987\, when they purchased 58 acres in the Stonington Uplands. The property already had wine grapes growing on it\, and the winery itself was constructed in 1989. \nStonington was also among the founding members of the Connecticut Wine Trail\, putting it among the wineries that helped establish Connecticut’s modern wine industry. \nWinemaker Mike McAndrew has been with Stonington from the beginning. The vineyard has developed a reputation particularly for its European-style wines\, barrel-fermented Chardonnays and proprietary blends. Current wines include Oak Chardonnay\, Sheer Chardonnay\, Seaport White\, Cabernet Franc\, Triad Rosé\, Riesling and Pawcatuck River Red. \nThe location plays a role in what’s in the bottle. Stonington’s proximity to the Atlantic gives the vineyard a maritime climate with a relatively long\, cool growing season\, conditions particularly well suited to Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc. (CTMQ) \nWine During the Concert\nWine is available throughout the concert by the glass\, flight or bottle. \nRegular wine tastings\, however\, aren’t offered during Friday evening concerts. If you’re coming specifically to work your way through a formal tasting\, another visit is a better choice. Friday night is about picking a wine\, finding a place on the lawn and enjoying the music. \nWine service ends at 8:30 p.m.\, half an hour before the concert finishes. \nOutside alcohol is strictly prohibited. Coolers may be checked\, and guests bringing their own alcohol can be asked to leave the property. \nPicnic food is allowed. \nFood at the Vineyard\nGuests can bring their own picnic dinner\, but food is also available during the Summer Concert Series. \nFire in the Kitchen Pizza is scheduled for most Friday concerts during the 2026 season\, including August 14\, and Moovin’ Scoops is scheduled throughout the series for dessert. \nFood vendors can change\, so guests planning to purchase dinner rather than bring a picnic should check the vineyard’s social media before heading out. \nWhat to Bring\nBring a lawn chair or blanket. The concerts take place on the vineyard lawn rather than in a traditional seated concert venue. \nPicnic dinners are welcome\, making this an easy event to turn into a full evening rather than simply arriving for the music. \nOutside alcohol isn’t allowed\, and that includes alcohol packed inside a picnic cooler. \nBecause the concert runs rain or shine\, checking the forecast before leaving home is worthwhile. If showers are possible\, come prepared for them. \nTickets\nAdvance tickets are $10. \nAdvance sales close at 3 p.m. Friday\, August 14. \nTickets remain available at the door for $15\, including when the advance ticket listing shows the concert as sold out. Credit cards are accepted. \nPhysical tickets aren’t mailed. Advance purchases are held under the purchaser’s name at the entrance\, and guests should keep their confirmation email as a receipt. \nParking\nParking at Stonington Vineyards is limited\, and the winery asks concertgoers to carpool whenever possible. \nGiving yourself a little extra arrival time also makes sense. With a lawn chair\, picnic and whatever else you’re carrying\, getting settled before the 6 p.m. start is easier than arriving after the music has begun. \nEvent Details\nDate\nFriday\, August 14\, 2026 \nTime\n6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. \nLocation\nStonington Vineyards \nAddress\n523 Taugwonk Road\nStonington\, CT 06378 \nEntertainment\nDave Alves Trio \nAdmission\n$10 advance\n$15 at the door \nAdvance Ticket Deadline\n3:00 p.m. Friday\, August 14 \nFood\nFire in the Kitchen Pizza and Moovin’ Scoops are scheduled for the series. SUMMARY:Haring's Noank Lobster Bake at Stone Acres Farm
DESCRIPTION:Haring’s Noank Lobster Bake at Stone Acres Farm pairs one of the state’s most celebrated restaurants with locally harvested seafood\, fresh farm sides\, and the relaxed atmosphere of a historic Stonington farm for an unforgettable outdoor dinner experience. \nPresented by Haring’s Noank\, recently recognized by The New York Times as one of America’s 50 Best Restaurants\, the weekly lobster bake is held in partnership with Lobstah Kingz and second-generation Stonington lobsterman Matt Madeira\, whose locally harvested lobster highlights the evening’s menu. Guests can choose between a traditional 1¼-pound steamed local lobster or a perfectly grilled BBQ half chicken\, each served with sweet corn\, smoked sausage\, boiled new potatoes\, Haring’s signature coleslaw\, and Davis Family Farm cornbread with sweet maple butter. \nThe experience extends well beyond the main course. Freshly shucked oysters from Sixpenny Oyster Farm\, hot or cold lobster rolls\, seasonal farm salads\, children’s meals\, handcrafted ice cream\, and additional à la carte specialties are available throughout the evening. A full bar serves craft cocktails\, local beer\, wine\, and non-alcoholic beverages\, making it easy to linger beneath the summer sky long after dinner is finished. \nWith rolling fields\, historic barns\, and one of the region’s most picturesque farm settings\, Stone Acres Farm provides a backdrop that feels uniquely New England.
