Admission is $15\, and the show is for ages 21 and older. \nRather than a conventional greatest-hits tribute\, the performance is part of Strange Brew’s Album Tribute Night series\, which assembles musicians for one-night-only performances of complete albums. \nDave Matthews Band at Its Most Ambitious\nReleased in April 1998\, Before These Crowded Streets arrived after Dave Matthews Band had become one of the biggest touring acts in America. \nInstead of simply repeating the formula of Under the Table and Dreaming and Crash\, the band made a denser\, darker and more experimental record. \nProducer Steve Lillywhite\, who had worked on the band’s previous albums\, returned for the project. The sessions expanded the familiar DMB sound with strings\, horns and a long list of guests\, including Alanis Morissette\, Béla Fleck and the Kronos Quartet. \nThe result was an album that could move from the explosive “Don’t Drink the Water” to the laid-back groove of “Crush\,” then into songs such as “The Stone\,” “The Dreaming Tree” and “Spoon.” \nCommercially\, it was a major success.
