SUMMARY:Tour de Noank 5K
DESCRIPTION:Runners\, walkers\, and families will converge on Noank Saturday morning for the 5K Tour de Noank road race benefiting adaptive recreation programs. Sponsored by Groton Parks and Recreation\, the race allows participants to run through Noank on a certified course while benefiting adaptive recreation programs. The route starts and finishes at Esker Point Beach\, guaranteeing racers scenic water views throughout the course. \n“The Tour de Noank 5K is designed to accommodate competitive runners looking for a challenging course as well as families that just want to enjoy a nice run through the village of Noank\,” said Kevin Agullo\, director of Groton Parks and Recreation. “We have a certified 5K race as well as a fun run for families.” Registration will begin at 8: 30 a.m. Saturday at Esker Point Beach with the Fun Run starting at 9:30 a.m. and the 5K at 10 a.m. Registration will be available online until Friday at noon. Thereafter\, interested runners will need to register in person at the Parks and Recreation office or on race day for $30. Prior to race day\, registration is $25. \nNote: all race shirts are sold out. \nStarted as a way to fundraise for Groton Parks and Recreation’s Adaptive Recreation Programs\, the Tour de Noank has become somewhat of an annual tradition along the Connecticut shoreline.
