For a $50 donation\, participants can reserve a 3-by-5-foot flag\, decorate it\, and dedicate it to someone whose life has been touched by breast cancer. Some flags may celebrate survivors\, others honor loved ones who have died\, and still others offer encouragement to people undergoing treatment. \nOnce completed\, the flags will be mounted on poles along Mystic’s streets\, creating a public display of remembrance\, resilience\, and hope. Participants may retrieve their decorated flags after October 18 to keep as personal mementos. \nDowntown businesses will also participate through fundraising activities\, specialty merchandise\, treats\, and other promotions supporting the cause.
