DESCRIPTION:The Stonington Cross-Country 5K & Fun Run returns for its ninth year on Wednesday\, August 5\, inviting runners of all ages to enjoy an evening of family-friendly competition and outdoor recreation. Hosted by the Westerly Track & Athletic Club\, the event takes participants across trails\, fields\, and bridges before finishing with a memorable final stretch on the Stonington High School track. \nThe evening begins with a Children’s Fun Run for participants ages 10 and under\, covering a half-mile course designed to introduce young runners to the excitement of race day. Immediately following the children’s event\, runners and walkers will take on the cross-country 5K course\, which winds through scenic terrain before concluding on the school’s track in front of spectators and fellow participants. \nWhether you’re chasing a personal best\, introducing your children to organized running\, or simply looking for an active community event\, the Stonington Cross-Country 5K & Fun Run offers a welcoming atmosphere for participants of all experience levels.
