SUMMARY:Jason Ingriselli at Saltwater Farm Vineyard
DESCRIPTION:Jason Ingriselli at Saltwater Farm Vineyard brings an afternoon of original country music to one of Connecticut’s most scenic wineries on Sunday\, August 2\, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Blending modern country with influences from ’90s country\, heartland rock\, and a touch of punk attitude\, Ingriselli has become one of New England’s fastest-rising independent country artists\, earning fans through energetic live performances and authentic songwriting. \nA Connecticut native\, Jason Ingriselli launched his country music career after a life-changing solo trip to Nashville in 2014\, an experience that inspired his breakout single\, “Stone Walls.” His independently released debut album\, The Miles North\, featured collaborations with Grand Ole Opry members\, Grammy-winning Nashville session musicians\, and talented performers from Connecticut’s thriving music scene. Since forming his backing band\, The Miles North\, Ingriselli has built his reputation the traditional way: one live show at a time. The group has shared the stage with national artists including Eli Young Band\, Chris Janson\, Matt Stell\, Little River Band\, and Avery Anna while earning a nomination for the 2024 New England Music Award for Country Act of the Year. \nFans can expect a mix of original songs such as “Matches to Burn\,” “Let’s Go Find Heaven\,” “Boston\,” “Destination\,” and the 2025 release “Wide Open\,” along with the polished musicianship of The Miles North featuring Nick Santore on lead guitar\, Andrew Kraemer on pedal steel and lap steel\, Erik Kukanskis on bass\, and Jerrod Cattey on drums. Together\, they have helped define what Ingriselli proudly calls “New England Country Music\,” a sound that reflects both the traditions of country music and the character of the Northeast. \nSet inside a beautifully restored 1930s airplane hangar overlooking vineyards and the tidal marshes of Stonington\, Saltwater Farm Vineyard provides a memorable setting for live music. Guests can relax with award-winning wines while enjoying an afternoon performance surrounded by one of southeastern Connecticut’s most picturesque landscapes. \nEvent Details\nEvent: Jason Ingriselli at Saltwater Farm Vineyard \nDate: Sunday\, August 2\, 2026 \nTime: 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. \nLocation: Saltwater Farm Vineyard\n349 Elm Street\nStonington\, CT 06378 \n  \n

SUMMARY:Ty Marshall at Saltwater Farm Vineyard
DESCRIPTION:Ty Marshall at Saltwater Farm Vineyard brings live local music to one of Stonington’s most distinctive vineyard settings on Friday\, August 14\, from 5 to 7 p.m. The performance is part of Saltwater Farm’s seasonal music schedule\, pairing an early Friday evening concert with wine and views across the vines and surrounding coastal landscape. \nMarshall is a local performer appearing around southeastern Connecticut\, but reliable published biographical information about him is limited. Rather than manufacture a résumé from scattered social listings\, the useful thing to know here is that this is a local singer-songwriter performance designed for the vineyard’s relaxed Friday-evening setting. \nAnd Saltwater Farm isn’t just scenery behind the music. The property has moved through several chapters of Stonington history\, from farmland to a small airport and eventually a vineyard\, with the former airplane hangar still standing at the center of it all. (Saltwater Farm Vineyard) \nAbout Ty Marshall\nTy Marshall performs locally in southeastern Connecticut\, including appearances at area wineries and other live-music venues. \nHis smaller-scale singer-songwriter format makes a natural fit for Saltwater Farm\, where the music accompanies the evening rather than turning the vineyard into a traditional concert venue. \nMarshall performs from 5 to 7 p.m.\, leaving plenty of time to arrive\, get a glass of wine and settle in before the music starts. \nAbout Saltwater Farm Vineyard\nSaltwater Farm Vineyard occupies 108 acres along Wequetequock Cove in Stonington\, but grapes are only the latest chapter in the property’s unusually long history. \nThe land traces its agricultural roots to 1653\, when Walter Palmer established a farm on roughly 230 acres surrounding the cove. Portions of that original property continued operating as farmland into the early 20th century. \nThen airplanes arrived. \nDuring the late 1930s\, William J. Foster established a small community airport on the property called Foster Field\, also known as Westone Airport. A hangar was designed by Stonington architect and engineer John W. Lincoln\, who is credited with sharing in the development of the Quonset hut. \nThe federal government closed the airport to public use after the United States entered World War II. Flying returned after the war when Henry R. Palmer Jr. operated Aero-Marine Service there\, offering commercial flights and flight training. \nThat venture lasted only a few years. \nOver the following decades\, the old hangar was put to work as a warehouse\, restaurant and manufacturing facility before eventually falling into disuse. \nFrom Airfield to Vineyard\nMichael Connery purchased the dormant property in 2001 and began its transformation into Saltwater Farm Vineyard. \nRather than demolish the old airport infrastructure\, the project preserved it. \nThe vintage hangar was restored and converted into the winery\, retaining its enormous timber trusses and original wood sheathing while adding a milled-aluminum exterior and modern winemaking facilities. Even the grassy landing strip was retained as part of the property. \nThe result doesn’t look quite like any other winery in southeastern Connecticut. You can sit with a glass of wine beside rows of vines while looking toward a building that once housed airplanes. \nWine and the Coastal Setting\nSaltwater Farm is bordered by the tidal marshes of Wequetequock Cove\, giving the property a decidedly coastal character. \nThe vineyard produces small-batch wines influenced by southern New England’s maritime growing conditions\, with the property itself providing much of the experience during warmer months. \nFriday’s performance takes advantage of that setting. This isn’t a show where everyone faces a stage in rows of seats. It’s meant to be an evening at the vineyard with live music folded into it. \nArriving near the beginning of the 5-to-7 p.m. window also gives visitors the chance to see the property while there’s still plenty of daylight. \nEvent Details\nDate: Friday\, August 14\, 2026 \nTime: 5:00–7:00 p.m. \nPerformer: Ty Marshall \nLocation: Saltwater Farm Vineyard \nAddress: 349 Elm Street\, Stonington\, CT 06378 \nSetting: Vineyard and winery housed in a restored former airport hangar on a 108-acre property bordering Wequetequock Cove. \nImportant Notes: This is an early-evening vineyard performance. Check with Saltwater Farm Vineyard for current information regarding seating\, food availability and any weather-related changes. \nMore Information\nFor more information\, visit the event website using the Event Website link below. \n  \n\n

SUMMARY:Summer Thursday Music Series: Dave Alves + J&R Seafood Raw Bar at Saltwater Farm Vineyard
DESCRIPTION:Summer Thursday Music Series featuring Dave Alves + J&R Seafood Market raw bar brings live music\, local wine and fresh seafood together at Saltwater Farm Vineyard in Stonington on Thursday\, August 20. Guitarist Dave Alves performs from 5 to 7 p.m.\, while Mystic’s J&R Seafood Market sets up a raw bar for the evening. \nIt’s a particularly local combination. Alves has been part of southeastern Connecticut’s music scene for decades\, J&R was founded by Stonington fishermen\, and Saltwater Farm occupies a piece of Stonington land whose history stretches back more than 350 years. \nThe Thursday series is designed as a casual summer evening rather than a formal concert. Grab a glass or bottle of wine\, order something from the raw bar and find a spot overlooking the vineyard while Alves plays. \nAbout Dave Alves\nDave Alves is a longtime southeastern Connecticut guitarist whose career has moved through rock\, blues\, jazz\, funk and acoustic music. \nHe’s probably most familiar locally as a member of several regional projects and as a musician who regularly performs at vineyards\, restaurants\, festivals and other venues around southeastern Connecticut and Rhode Island. His playing allows him to move comfortably between familiar covers and more improvisational material\, making the smaller vineyard format a natural fit. \nAlves also performs in different configurations depending on the venue\, from solo appearances to the Dave Alves Trio. For the August 20 Saltwater Farm date\, he’s billed simply as Dave Alves\, putting the focus on the more intimate side of his playing. \nJ&R Brings the Raw Bar\nThe other half of Thursday’s pairing comes from nearby Mystic. \nJ&R Seafood Market grew from a business started in 2016 by John and Richie\, two former fishermen who grew up in Stonington and still live in town. Frustrated by what they saw as expensive\, lower-quality seafood\, they began using their fishing-industry relationships to supply fresher products to local chefs and markets. \nIt started with sea scallops. \nThe business expanded\, and the founders’ oldest children\, Allison and Andrew\, eventually opened the retail J&R Seafood Market at 45 Williams Avenue in Mystic. The market now sells fresh seafood along with house-made chowders\, prepared meals\, seafood dips\, sauces and other products. Seafood is delivered fresh daily and sourced from local waters whenever possible. \nRaw bars have become another part of J&R’s business. Its catered raw bars can include oysters\, littlenecks and shrimp cocktail\, along with options such as tuna poke and shrimp-avocado ceviche. The exact selection available at Saltwater Farm hasn’t been announced\, so consider those examples of what J&R offers rather than a guaranteed menu for Thursday. \nA Vineyard With an Unusual Past\nSaltwater Farm Vineyard has one of the more interesting backstories among Connecticut wineries. \nThe land’s agricultural history can be traced to 1653\, when Walter Palmer established a farm on roughly 230 acres surrounding Wequetequock Cove. Portions remained farmland into the early 20th century. \nThen airplanes arrived. \nIn the late 1930s\, William J. Foster established a small community airport on the property called Foster Field\, or Westone Airport. Its hangar was designed by Stonington architect and engineer John W. Lincoln\, who was involved in the development of the Quonset hut. \nAfter World War II\, the property briefly hosted commercial aviation and flight training. The hangar subsequently went through a much less glamorous stretch as a warehouse\, restaurant and manufacturing facility before sitting largely dormant. \nMichael Connery purchased 108 acres in 2001 and began transforming the former airfield into a vineyard while preserving its aviation history. The first vines were planted in 2003\, and the old hangar was eventually restored as the winery’s striking tasting room and event space. \nThe old airfield hasn’t completely disappeared\, either. A grassy landing strip remains part of the property. \nWine\, Seafood and a Thursday Evening\nSaltwater Farm’s Thursday music series continues through September 3 this summer\, with the vineyard remaining open until 7 p.m. on Thursdays and music beginning at 5. \nWine is available by the glass or bottle\, along with a selection of Connecticut craft beer and other beverages. Saltwater Farm is not currently offering traditional wine tastings. \nCheese\, crackers and other small bites are available for purchase\, and guests may bring their own food. On August 20\, of course\, there’s another option: let J&R do the shucking. \nNo outside alcohol is permitted. \nThe performance is rain or shine. Indoor table reservations can be requested in advance\, but the vineyard doesn’t reserve outdoor spaces. Leashed dogs are welcome outdoors\, and children are welcome when accompanied by an adult. \nEvent Details\nDate: Thursday\, August 20\, 2026 \nTime: 5:00–7:00 p.m. \nPerformer: Dave Alves \nSpecial Food Vendor: J&R Seafood Market raw bar \nLocation: Saltwater Farm Vineyard \nAddress: 349 Elm Street\, Stonington\, CT 06378 \nFood: J&R Seafood Market raw bar; cheese\, crackers and other small bites available.
