SUMMARY:Counterfeit Cash (Johnny Cash Tribute) at the Charlestown Rathskeller 2026
DESCRIPTION:Counterfeit Cash (Johnny Cash Tribute) at the Charlestown Rathskeller 2026 brings the songs of the Man in Black to Charlestown on Sunday\, August 9\, for a free afternoon concert in the Rathskeller’s outdoor setting. From 4 to 7 p.m.\, the tribute band will dig into Johnny Cash’s unmistakable catalog of country\, rockabilly\, gospel\, and outlaw favorites. \nSongs such as “Folsom Prison Blues\,” “Ring of Fire\,” and “I Walk the Line” form the backbone of a show designed to capture the sound and attitude of Cash rather than simply borrowing the black clothes. Counterfeit Cash focuses on faithful arrangements of the recordings that made Cash one of the defining figures in American music. \nThe Sunday afternoon start also makes this an easy concert to build a day around. Grab lunch or a drink\, settle into the Rathskeller’s wooded grounds\, play a lawn game\, and stay for three hours of live music. Admission is free. \nAbout Counterfeit Cash\nCounterfeit Cash is a Johnny Cash tribute dedicated to recreating the sound\, energy\, and character of Cash’s music onstage. \nThe band’s repertoire reaches across Cash’s long career\, including the early Sun Records sound that helped shape rockabilly and rock and roll\, the stark storytelling of his country recordings\, and the outlaw attitude that made him an artist who never fit comfortably inside a single genre. \nFor audiences\, that means plenty of recognizable material. Songs such as “Folsom Prison Blues\,” “Ring of Fire\,” and “I Walk the Line” are among the classics featured in the band’s performances. \nLearn more about Counterfeit Cash \nThe Music of Johnny Cash\nJohnny Cash’s catalog stretches across country\, rock and roll\, folk\, blues\, and gospel\, giving a tribute show plenty of room to move. \nHis stripped-down rhythms and booming vocals made early recordings instantly recognizable\, while his songs frequently centered on working people\, prisoners\, faith\, regret\, love\, and redemption. Decades later\, those recordings remain staples of American music. \nCounterfeit Cash brings that catalog back to the stage in a setting considerably more relaxed than a traditional theater show. \nAn Afternoon at the Rathskeller\nThe Charlestown Rathskeller sits among the trees on Old Coach Road\, giving its live music events a distinctly Rhode Island summer atmosphere. \nGuests can come early for lunch or drinks and spend time outside before the performance. The property features expansive outdoor areas\, fire pits\, and lawn games alongside the restaurant and tavern. \nWith the concert running from 4 to 7 p.m.\, there’s no need to wait until nighttime for the music to begin. \nFood & Drinks\nFood and beverages are available for purchase from the Charlestown Rathskeller throughout the afternoon. \nThe combination of an outdoor concert and full restaurant makes this less formal than a ticketed theater performance. Guests can make the music part of a late lunch\, an early dinner\, or simply settle in with a drink for the show. \nEvent Details\nDate\nSunday\, August 9\, 2026 \nTime\n4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. \nLocation\nThe Charlestown Rathskeller Tavern \nAddress\n489A Old Coach Road\nCharlestown\, RI 02813 \nAdmission\nFree \nFood & Drinks\nAvailable for purchase. \nSetting\nOutdoor live music at the Rathskeller’s wooded property. \nImportant Notes\nGuests are encouraged to arrive early if they plan to have lunch or drinks before the performance. \nMore Information\nFor more information\, visit the event website using the Event Website link below. \nFor ticket purchases\, click on the Ticketing link below. \n\n

SUMMARY:Another Tequila Sunrise at the Rathskeller
DESCRIPTION:Another Tequila Sunrise at the Rathskeller brings the music of the Eagles to Charlestown on Friday\, August 14\, for three hours of classic rock under the summer sky. The New England-based tribute band takes the stage from 8 to 11 p.m.\, performing everything from laid-back country rock and harmony-driven ballads to the guitar-heavy songs that defined the Eagles’ later years. \nThis isn’t a tribute built around costumes or impersonation. Another Tequila Sunrise has been performing the Eagles’ catalog since 2001\, concentrating on the details that made the original band distinctive: layered vocal harmonies\, intertwined guitars and arrangements that can move from the quiet opening of “Desperado” to the unmistakable guitar finale of “Hotel California.” The band’s repertoire also reaches beyond the Eagles into solo material from Don Henley\, Glenn Frey and Joe Walsh. (ANOTHER TEQUILA SUNRISE) \nThe Charlestown Rathskeller gives the show a fitting setting. Tucked into the woods along Old Coach Road\, the historic tavern combines outdoor music with food\, drinks\, fire pits and lawn games. Come early for dinner\, then settle in for a Friday night of songs that helped define the sound of 1970s American rock. \nAbout Another Tequila Sunrise\nAnother Tequila Sunrise is a New England-based Eagles tribute that has been performing since 2001 and has toured throughout the country. Rather than concentrating on a single period of the Eagles\, the group covers the band’s evolution from early Southern California country rock through its arena-sized rock years. \nThe seven-member lineup is structured to reproduce the instrumental and vocal layers of an Eagles concert. The current group includes John Robert Murphy handling the Don Henley vocal role\, Jeff Griffith on guitar and vocals in the Glenn Frey role\, Bryan Picher performing Joe Walsh’s guitar parts\, Jeremy Beek covering the Don Felder and Steuart Smith guitar work\, John Baptista on bass and vocals\, Denis Brunelle on keyboards\, guitar and vocals\, and Steve Brodi on drums and vocals. \nThere’s considerable experience behind those parts. Murphy spent years fronting a nationally touring Journey tribute and has performed with Journey and Santana founding member Gregg Rolie. Griffith studied music at UMass Lowell along with classes at Juilliard and New England Conservatory\, while Picher specializes in reproducing the details of Joe Walsh’s distinctive guitar style. \nWhat You’ll Hear\nThe Eagles built a catalog broad enough that an evening devoted to their music doesn’t stay in one gear for long. \nAnother Tequila Sunrise’s repertoire includes the country-rock sound of “Take It Easy\,” “Lyin’ Eyes” and “Peaceful Easy Feeling\,” harmony-rich ballads such as “Desperado\,” “Wasted Time” and “Best of My Love\,” and harder-edged tracks including “Victim of Love” and “Hotel California.” \nThe band also performs deeper album cuts and music from the Eagles members’ solo careers\, including material from Don Henley\, Glenn Frey and Joe Walsh. Some performances have even featured complete Eagles albums\, reflecting how deeply the group reaches into the catalog. \nThat should make the Rathskeller show more than a quick run through a dozen obvious hits. Casual Eagles fans will know plenty of the songs\, while people who wore out copies of Desperado\, One of These Nights or Hotel California should find plenty tucked into the set for them\, too. \nAn Outdoor Night at the Rathskeller\nThe Charlestown Rathskeller’s wooded property gives this concert a very different feel from seeing an Eagles tribute inside a theater. \nGuests can arrive early for dinner and drinks\, spend some time around the outdoor grounds and stay for the concert from 8 to 11 p.m. The property includes outdoor seating\, fire pits and lawn games\, making it easy to turn the performance into an entire Friday night out rather than arriving just before the first song. \nTickets\nAdvance admission is $20 plus Eventbrite fees. \nTickets will also be available at the door for $25\, subject to availability. \nWith a three-hour performance scheduled\, arriving early also leaves time for dinner before the band begins. \nEvent Details\nDate\nFriday\, August 14\, 2026 \nTime\n8:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. \nLocation\nThe Charlestown Rathskeller Tavern \nAddress\n489 Old Coach Road\nCharlestown\, RI \nAdmission\n$20 advance plus ticketing fees\n$25 at the door \nFood & Drinks\nAvailable for purchase from the Rathskeller. \nSetting\nOutdoor live music on the Rathskeller’s wooded grounds. \nImportant Notes\nAdvance tickets are recommended. SUMMARY:Amber Rose and The Renegades at the Rathskeller
DESCRIPTION:Amber Rose and The Renegades at the Rathskeller brings a wide-ranging night of classic and modern rock to Charlestown on Saturday\, August 15. The Rhode Island-area band takes the outdoor stage from 8 to 11 p.m.\, with a setlist that can move from Janis Joplin and Led Zeppelin to Heart\, Jefferson Airplane and Adele. \nThis isn’t a single-artist tribute. Amber Rose and The Renegades are a five-piece cover band built around lead singer Amber Rose\, backed by musicians with years of experience in the regional music scene. The group casts a wide net across several decades\, with powerhouse female vocals and guitar-driven rock providing the common thread. (Amber Rose and the Renegades) \nThe Charlestown Rathskeller’s wooded grounds give the show a natural summer setting. Come early for dinner and drinks\, spend some time around the fire pits or lawn games\, then stay for three hours of music outside. Advance tickets are $10 plus fees\, with admission rising to $15 at the door. \nAbout Amber Rose and The Renegades\nAmber Rose and The Renegades have become familiar faces on the Rhode Island and southeastern New England live music circuit\, playing festivals\, community concert series\, clubs and waterfront venues. Their 2026 schedule has included the Bristol Fourth of July Concert Series and Charlestown Seafood Festival\, along with appearances around Rhode Island and Connecticut. (Central Riche Chamber) \nAt the center is Amber Rose\, whose powerful lead vocals allow the band to tackle songs associated with some particularly demanding singers. Rather than staying within one era\, the group’s repertoire moves across classic rock and more contemporary material. \nThat means a set can reach back to the late ’60s and ’70s for Janis Joplin\, Led Zeppelin and Jefferson Airplane\, move through the arena-rock power of Heart\, then jump forward to songs by Adele. \nAmber Rose and The Renegades official website \nMeet the Band\nThe five-piece lineup combines musicians with experience in several established regional bands. \nAmber Rose handles lead vocals and serves as the group’s frontwoman. \nGuitarist Bob Hughes previously performed with Rhode Island bands Eyewitness and Zink Alloy. His role with The Renegades ranges from melodic guitar parts to the heavier solos needed for the band’s classic-rock material. \nRay D’Amico is behind the drums and also manages the band’s bookings. D’Amico previously played with Steve Smith and currently performs with Steve Smith and the Nakeds\, a longtime fixture of the Rhode Island music scene. \nKeyboardist Keith Denton plays piano\, organ and synthesizer and previously performed with Archives and Zink Alloy\, along with appearances with What Matters? \nBassist Joe Ortoleva completes the rhythm section and brings experience from groups including Kharisma\, Keturah’s Dream and Rough and Ready. \nWhat You’ll Hear\nThe band’s song selection is designed more like a rock playlist than a tightly defined tribute show. \nThat opens the door to music spanning several generations. The common denominator is a set built for a live crowd\, with prominent vocals\, guitar solos and recognizable songs that give people a reason to get out of their seats. \nAmber Rose’s voice also gives the group room to explore some of rock’s most distinctive female-fronted material. Songs associated with Janis Joplin\, Grace Slick and Heart require considerably different vocal approaches\, while newer material expands the show beyond a straightforward classic-rock night. \nDinner and Music at the Rathskeller\nThe Charlestown Rathskeller sits among the trees on Old Coach Road\, away from the busier commercial stretches of South County. \nGuests can arrive before the show for dinner and drinks\, then head outside for the concert. The grounds include outdoor seating\, fire pits and lawn games\, making the evening feel closer to a backyard summer concert than a conventional indoor club show. \nThe band performs from 8 to 11 p.m. \nTickets\nAdvance tickets are $10 plus Eventbrite fees. \nAdmission at the door is $15\, subject to availability. \nThe event has a no-refund policy. \nEvent Details\nDate\nSaturday\, August 15\, 2026 \nTime\n8:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. \nLocation\nThe Charlestown Rathskeller \nAddress\n489A Old Coach Road\nCharlestown\, RI 02813 \nAdmission\n$10 advance plus ticketing fees\n$15 at the door \nEntertainment\nAmber Rose and The Renegades \nFood & Drinks\nAvailable for purchase at the Rathskeller. \nSetting\nOutdoor live music on the Rathskeller’s wooded grounds. \nRefund Policy\nNo refunds. \nImportant Notes\nGuests planning to have dinner or drinks before the concert should arrive before the 8 p.m. performance. The Providence-based band takes the stage at 4 p.m.\, bringing together veteran Rhode Island musicians whose backgrounds stretch from local hall-of-fame bands to touring and recording work with Clarence Clemons. (Earl Knightwood Band) \nThis isn’t a tribute band\, although you’ll hear plenty of musical history running through the show. The Earl Knightwood Band draws from the groove-heavy sounds of New Orleans\, Memphis soul\, rhythm and blues\, jazz\, and funk\, with multiple vocalists and a lineup built to move comfortably between those styles. \nThe Rathskeller is almost as much a part of the experience as the band. Its Down Back venue sits behind the restaurant among the trees\, with a stage\, outdoor bars\, a burger shack\, a huge fire pit\, and lawn games spread across the grounds. It’s a relaxed setting for a Sunday afternoon show\, and guests can come early for lunch before heading out back for the music. (Charlestown Rathskeller) \nAbout The Earl Knightwood Band\nThe Earl Knightwood Band is based in Providence and describes its musical territory as R&B\, New Orleans music\, funk\, soul\, and the bluesier side of jazz. \nThere’s considerable Rhode Island music history within the group. \nGuitarist and vocalist Ed Vallee is a Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame inductee for his work with The Young Adults\, the Providence-area band that developed a devoted following during the late 1970s and early ’80s. Vallee later played guitar on recordings and tours with legendary E Street Band saxophonist Clarence Clemons. \nKeyboardist and vocalist Frank Rapone is also a Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame inductee as a founding member of Steve Smith & The Nakeds. Like Vallee\, Rapone performed behind Clemons during his work outside Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band. Rapone and Vallee came together in 2019 to form the current Earl Knightwood lineup. \nMeet the Band\nPaula Clare handles lead vocals. Before settling in Rhode Island\, Clare lived in Chicago and Los Angeles and worked as an actress in film and television. She later returned to music as a singer and songwriter. \nChris O’Donnell handles drums and vocals. His background includes study with jazz musicians Ernie Watts and Jerry Bergonzi\, along with work as a drummer and arranger with The Duende Project. \nDave McCarthy brings a classical contrabass background to the electric bass\, but his playing with Earl Knightwood moves from New Orleans grooves to Memphis-style soul. His touring experience includes opening dates for Delbert McClinton and Hootie & The Blowfish with Rockin’ Soul Horns. \nGuitarist and vocalist Bill Lehourites is another familiar name in Rhode Island’s blues\, rock\, and soul community\, performing with Earl Knightwood as well as Take It To The Bridge and hosting regional jam sessions. \nTogether\, the musicians give Earl Knightwood considerably more range than a straightforward blues band. \nThe Earl Knightwood Band official website \nWhat You’ll Hear\nExpect a show driven more by groove than genre labels. \nNew Orleans funk and R&B sit at the center\, but the band also moves into soul\, modern blues\, and jazz-influenced material. Multiple singers and experienced instrumentalists give the group room to change direction throughout a set rather than locking into one sound for the afternoon. \nFor listeners who enjoy the intersection where blues starts getting funkier\, soul gets heavier\, and jazz loosens its tie a little\, this is the neighborhood Earl Knightwood occupies. \nA Rathskeller Tradition Since 1933\nThe Charlestown Rathskeller has a history considerably longer than its summer concert series. \nThe restaurant traces its roots to 1933\, when the property began life as a speakeasy. It has since evolved into a restaurant\, tavern\, and entertainment destination tucked into the woods along Old Coach Road. \nBehind the restaurant is Down Back\, the Rathskeller’s seasonal outdoor music venue. The grounds include the concert stage\, patio seating\, bocce and cornhole\, two outdoor bars\, a large fire pit\, and the Down Back Burger Shack. Concerts run regularly from May into the fall\, featuring regional performers along with nationally touring acts. \nThat history and setting help explain why the Rathskeller feels less like a conventional concert venue and more like somebody built a stage in the middle of a very large backyard. \nSeating at Down Back\nSeating for Rathskeller concerts is first come\, first served and festival-style. \nA ticket to a paid performance does not reserve a particular table or seat. The Rathskeller presents both free and ticketed shows throughout the season\, so guests should check the individual event listing for admission information. \nFor the August 16 performance\, arriving early also gives you time to have lunch or grab something from the bar before the 4 p.m. start. \nFood\, Drinks and Lawn Games\nThe Rathskeller serves lunch and dinner on Sundays\, with the kitchen open from noon to 10 p.m. \nGuests heading Down Back can also find the Burger Shack and outdoor bars near the music venue. Bocce and cornhole are available on the grounds\, and the large central fire pit becomes part of the scene as summer evenings cool down. \nEvent Details\nDate\nSunday\, August 16\, 2026 \nTime\n4:00 p.m. \nLocation\nRathskeller Down Back at The Charlestown Rathskeller \nAddress\n489A Old Coach Road\nCharlestown\, RI 02813 \nEntertainment\nThe Earl Knightwood Band \nMusic\nR&B\, New Orleans funk\, soul\, modern blues\, and jazz-influenced music \nSeating\nFirst come\, first served\, festival-style seating.
