SUMMARY:Dave Sobol at Preston Ridge Vineyard
DESCRIPTION:Dave Sobol at Preston Ridge Vineyard brings an afternoon of familiar favorites\, storytelling\, and audience singalongs to Preston on Sunday\, August 2\, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. A longtime fixture of southeastern Connecticut’s live music scene\, Sobol has spent decades entertaining audiences with an approachable style that blends classic hits\, acoustic guitar\, and an infectious enthusiasm for performing. \nRaised in Norwich\, Dave Sobol’s love of music began as a child\, singing alongside his grandfather during television’s Sing Along with Mitch. That early passion led him to guitar lessons at age ten\, where he learned his first song\, “Winchester Cathedral\,” before eventually discovering that his greatest joy wasn’t simply playing guitar\, but bringing people together through music. Over the years\, Sobol has performed everywhere from restaurants\, campgrounds\, fairs\, and backyard parties to clubs and festivals\, building a reputation as a performer who turns every show into an interactive experience where audiences are encouraged to sing along and have as much fun as he does. \nHis performances draw from decades of popular music\, weaving together classic rock\, folk\, country\, and timeless singalong favorites in a relaxed acoustic style. Whether performing beloved standards or crowd-requested favorites\, Sobol’s warm personality and easygoing stage presence make every show feel like an afternoon spent with an old friend. \nThe concert takes place at Preston Ridge Vineyard\, a family-owned winery established in 2012 after years of planning\, planting\, and cultivating its hillside vineyards. Today\, the scenic property features rolling vineyards\, handcrafted wines\, and a welcoming tasting room where guests can enjoy estate-grown wines while overlooking the picturesque countryside. It’s an ideal setting to unwind with a glass of wine and an afternoon of live music. \nEvent Details\nEvent: Dave Sobol at Preston Ridge Vineyard \nDate: Sunday\, August 2\, 2026 \nTime: 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. \nLocation: Preston Ridge Vineyard\n100 Miller Road\nPreston\, CT 06365 \nMore Information\nAdditional event information is available by clicking the Event Website link at the bottom of this page. \n  \n

SUMMARY:Nick Bosse & The Northern Roots at Preston Ridge Vineyard
DESCRIPTION:Nick Bosse & The Northern Roots at Preston Ridge Vineyard brings the North Stonington country singer and his full band to Preston on Saturday\, August 15\, for a summer evening of country\, Southern rock and bluegrass overlooking the vineyard. The special Saturday concert runs from 6 to 9 p.m.\, with admission priced by the car rather than by the person. (Preston Ridge Vineyard) \nThis is a different experience from Bosse’s smaller solo and duo appearances around southeastern Connecticut. The Northern Roots expands his songs with a full-band sound built around electric guitar and rhythm section\, with the group’s musical history also incorporating fiddle\, pedal steel\, upright bass\, banjo\, mandolin and harmonica. (Wailing City) \nAnd Preston Ridge is well suited to it. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs\, settle in under the vineyard’s event tent and make an evening of the show. Food\, Preston Ridge wine and craft beer will be available for purchase\, while guests can also bring their own picnic. \nNick Bosse Goes Full Band\nBosse has become one of the more recognizable country performers to come out of southeastern Connecticut in recent years. \nThe North Stonington singer-songwriter draws from traditional country\, Southern rock and bluegrass rather than leaning heavily into contemporary country-pop. His influences stretch from Merle Haggard to Tyler Childers\, and his songs tend to stay close to the storytelling side of country music. (CTvisit) \nHis best-known recording\, “What Happened to Country\,” arrived in 2021 and has now passed 2 million streams. Bosse has also performed at Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun and developed a busy schedule of concerts throughout Connecticut and Rhode Island. (CTvisit) \nThere is new music for 2026 as well. Nick Bosse & The Northern Roots released a five-song self-titled EP in May\, giving the band fresh material heading into its summer shows. \nThe Northern Roots\nBosse formed The Northern Roots with drummer John Spaulding in 2014\, building a band of musicians from Connecticut and Rhode Island around his country songwriting. \nThe group’s broader instrumentation is where Bosse’s different influences begin to meet. Fiddle and pedal steel can push the music toward traditional country\, while electric guitar and drums give the live show considerably more weight. Banjo\, mandolin and upright bass have also been part of the band’s sound. \nFor someone who’s caught Bosse playing one of his many acoustic dates around the region\, Saturday’s Preston Ridge appearance offers the larger version of the act. \nA Summer Music Night at Preston Ridge\nPreston Ridge Vineyard sits on a ridge at 100 Miller Road in Preston\, surrounded by vines and open countryside. \nThe family-owned vineyard has developed live music into a regular part of its warmer-weather calendar\, usually hosting regional musicians on Fridays and Sundays. The Nick Bosse concert is one of its larger Summer Music Nights\, with a Saturday evening time slot and separate admission. \nThe property combines its tasting room with broad outdoor spaces and vineyard views. For this concert\, guests should bring their own lawn chairs and can set up beneath the event tent. \nIt makes for a fairly simple Saturday night: claim a spot\, pour a glass of local wine\, unpack a picnic and listen to a Connecticut country band for three hours. \nFood\, Wine and What You Can Bring\nPreston Ridge will have wine and craft beer available for purchase during the concert. Food will also be available. \nGuests are permitted to bring their own food\, so packing a picnic is fine. \nThe important restriction is alcohol. Outside alcohol isn’t permitted anywhere on the property. Wine and beer must be purchased from Preston Ridge. Guests must be 21 or older to consume alcohol. \nTickets Are Sold by the Car\nThis one has an unusual admission setup that’s particularly useful for groups. \nTickets are $35 per car in advance and $40 per car on site. \nSo four friends arriving together aren’t paying $35 each. They’re paying $35 for the vehicle. \nPreston Ridge states that tickets for its ticketed events are non-refundable. \nEvent Details\nDate: Saturday\, August 15\, 2026 \nTime: 6:00–9:00 p.m. \nPerformer: Nick Bosse & The Northern Roots \nLocation: Preston Ridge Vineyard \nAddress: 100 Miller Road\, Preston\, CT 06365 \nAdmission: $35 per car in advance; $40 per car on site \nMusic: Country\, Southern rock and bluegrass \nSeating: Bring your own lawn chair. \nFood: Food will be available for purchase.
