Carter has been involved in underground dance music for more than three decades\, while the two DJs behind Nové Bloc bring touring and recording backgrounds to their sets. Grahm Radio adds another angle entirely: a house DJ and music curator who has developed an international following around his weekly Immersive Groove mixes. \nBrian Carter\nCarter was born in London and began his musical life playing percussion in the British new wave scene. After moving to the United States\, he became involved with San Francisco’s early underground rave culture before establishing Dancebeatroute\, an event series that helped take his work to both coasts. \nHis background includes some of the Northeast’s longest-running club residencies as well as early dance-music boat parties in New York City. These days\, his sets can move through disco\, jazz house\, soulful grooves and house\, reflecting a record collection accumulated over decades rather than one narrow electronic genre. \nThat history makes him something of an elder statesman on Friday’s bill. He’s not playing at house music. He’s been around it long enough to have watched entire generations of the scene come and go. \nNové Bloc\nNové Bloc is the DJ partnership of Jaromir Kurty and Greg Tessitore. \nTogether\, the pair bring more than a decade of touring experience\, including performances both in the United States and internationally. They’ve also released music through established record labels while accumulating the kind of enormous personal music libraries that tend to happen when DJs spend years searching for the next record nobody else in the room thought to play. \nTheir sets aren’t confined strictly to contemporary house. The duo has also leaned into disco and older dance records\, which gives Don’t Tell Mom room to move backward and forward through dance music rather than staying locked into one sound all night. \nGrahm Radio Makes His Connecticut Debut\nThe wildcard on Friday’s lineup is Grahm Radio\, making what organizers bill as his Connecticut debut. \nGrahm Radio is a Miami-based house DJ\, producer and music curator whose work centers on discovering and sharing new house music. His ongoing Immersive Groove series is a weekly deep-tech mix built partly from music submitted to him by artists and record labels around the world. \nHis background isn’t limited to DJing. Grahm Radio has described growing up on an unusually broad musical diet that included classic rock\, Bob Dylan and the Grateful Dead before discovering house music and jam bands in college. He began DJing around 2019 and launched the Grahm Radio project in 2020. \nThe project has grown into more than a series of mixes. He now operates a community centered on unreleased house music\, sharing large weekly collections of unreleased tracks with subscribers and highlighting new producers through his platform. \nFor a small Bank Street room in New London\, that’s a pretty interesting guest to drop into the lineup. \nAn Electronic Night Inside Oasis\nThe Oasis Pub is particularly well suited to a night like this because there isn’t much distance between performer and crowd. \nThe 21+ Bank Street bar has developed a reputation as one of downtown New London’s small independent music rooms\, regularly hosting local musicians\, touring underground acts and DJ nights. Its size is part of the appeal. This isn’t a cavernous nightclub with the DJ somewhere across the room. \nWhen Oasis fills\, it fills. \nThe bar itself has a strong craft-beer identity\, with a rotating selection that emphasizes Connecticut and regional breweries alongside canned drinks\, cocktails and nonalcoholic options. Their shows also lean heavily into the visual side\, using lasers\, video projections and other multimedia to turn the room into part of the performance. \nThat approach should be particularly interesting inside The Oasis Pub. Oasis is one of downtown New London’s small independent music rooms\, where the stage sits only a few feet from the audience. The venue regularly books emerging bands\, underground electronic acts and DJs rather than operating like a traditional concert hall. \nAbout Multiplier\nMultiplier comes out of the southeastern Connecticut music scene\, with its members playing together in different forms for more than a decade before formalizing the project. \nThe easiest way to understand them may be to start with the groove. \nHouse and EDM provide some of the foundation\, but Multiplier pulls in dub\, hip-hop\, trip-hop\, breakbeat and funk rather than staying inside one electronic genre. A June 2026 profile described their music as unmistakably club-oriented but with a psychedelic edge and unexpected changes working their way through the groove. (Post Road Review) \nThey’re also a live electronic band\, an important distinction from watching a producer perform a DJ set. \nThat combination has made Multiplier a good fit for everything from clubs and theaters to outdoor festivals and unconventional parties. The group describes the shows as multimedia experiences incorporating lasers\, video screens and digital artists alongside the music. \nThey’ve been particularly active around New London this summer. Multiplier hosted its fifth annual Summer Party at Hygienic Art Park in June and played the Connecticut College Arboretum’s new Summer Concert Series in July. \nNow they’re squeezing all of that into Oasis. \nDJ W.O.W. Opens the Night\nDJ W.O.W. starts the evening with a one-hour set from 8 to 9 p.m. \nDJ W.O.W. has previously appeared on downtown bills\, including sets associated with The Social\, and has already shared a bill with Multiplier this year. The two acts performed together at The Social in March\, where Multiplier was similarly presented as a dance-focused mix of house\, EDM\, dub\, electro-funk\, breakbeat\, hip-hop and trip-hop. \nThat makes Saturday’s pairing at Oasis less random than it might appear. W.O.W. gets the room moving first. Then the live band takes over. \nInside The Oasis Pub\nOasis has been part of New London’s alternative music culture for years. \nIt’s a small\, 21-and-over craft beer bar and live music room at 16 Bank Street\, with the bar running along much of the space and the stage tucked into the back. On show nights\, that leaves an open area in front of the stage for the crowd. \nThere are no giant video walls separating the performers from the audience. No distant seats. \nFor a band that actively wants people dancing\, that intimacy works. \nOasis also puts unusual emphasis on its beer selection\, currently advertising 20 drafts and more than 60 cans\, alongside wine\, canned cocktails\, cider\, nonalcoholic options and other drinks. \nSaturday hours run from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.\, so the bar remains open after Multiplier’s scheduled set ends. \nTwo Different Kinds of Electronic Performance\nThere’s a nice progression built into the schedule. \nFrom 8 to 9 p.m.\, DJ W.O.W. controls the room from the decks. \nAt 9 p.m.\, Multiplier changes the equation.
