DESCRIPTION:Horseshoe Crab Family Walk at Napatree Point invites families and nature lovers to explore one of the shoreline’s most fascinating ancient species during a guided outdoor experience on Saturday\, May 30\, June 13\, and June 27 from 9 to 10 a.m. Hosted at the Napatree Point Conservation Area beach entrance on Fort Road in Westerly\, the free program gives participants a chance to learn about horseshoe crabs and their unique role in the coastal ecosystem surrounding Little Narragansett Bay. Presented by The Watch Hill Conservancy\, the walk combines environmental education with a relaxed outdoor experience along one of SW Rhode Island’s most scenic coastal landscapes. \nDuring the guided walk\, participants will discover why horseshoe crabs are often referred to as “living fossils\,” having survived for more than 300 million years.
